There are a couple of ways you can do this - one is in order of how they relate to Dark Fever, the other is in order of how they relate to each other. I have just reading these myself, so I am biased. Here's how I would recommend it:
1) Immortal Highlander. This book contains a character who looks suspicously like the Lord Master. He even predicts that he is going to unleash the Unseelie Prison and overthrow the Queen
2) Spell of the Highlander. This book is about a character who owns one of the other Unseelie Hallows, and how he looses it. This character is from London, and probably owns the shop that was raided as described by Jerricho Barrons on the terrible night shortly after its owner disappeared. I suspect that JB might have been the one to raid the shop, and we'll learn later, I'm sure.
3a & b) In order to understand Druids, AKA the MacKeltar and their relationship to the Hallows, you have to read Kiss of the Highlander and Dark Highlander - in that order. You cannot read one before the other. These two Druids, we speculate, may be important in books to come because of the warning I mention below, that is contained in Spell of the HIghlander. And these two books will help you understand a bit more about JB. Deja?? commented that JB might be related to a person who is an antagonist in Dark Highlander. Since we are all curious about JB's origin (and I personally feel there is another 'shoe' to drop about him) these hints are tantalizing about his motives and real character. ;-)
4) Finally, in order to understand Adam Black's role in all of this, you really have to read The Highlander's Touch. This book explains about some of the Hallows, and we think that the cauldron might actually be the flask that is a key part of this book. Adam fought the first battle with the character who looks like the Lord Master, and that battle might foreshadow things to come in the fever series.
However! If you were to do the right thing, you'd have to read these in chronological order as follows (tho' the term 'chronological' is used with some irony, as some of these are time-travel books):
1) The Highlander's Touch
2) Kiss of the HIghlander
3) Dark Highlander
4) Immortal Highlander
5) Spell of the HIghlander
Spell of the Highlander closes with a few pages that are suspiciously like a segway into the Dark Fever Series. An ominous vision and forewarning ...
Good luck and Happy Reading!!! Sigh. I feel like I want to sit back and read these all over again.
