Subject: Who is JB?

Could JB be an ancient "pict" vampire? Why not have a vampire and human team up to outwit the Seelie and Unseelie. A few hints which may or may not be misleading. JB asked to be invited into Mackaylas room, licked her neck, appears only after dark, strong "like a vampire",and he was angry that Maltuese was made into a vampire. JB has told Mackayla he would not let her die.....and the next book is "Bloodfever"..... Fiona is doomed, the gal is history. Mackayla has moved in and JB is moving on

[> Fiona I think is JB's sister...aha!.....lol.......but she's a jealous sister of any woman around JB. As far as JB being a vamp, I don't think so because he's out all day long (sunlight) while Mac is rummaging around either the book store or Ireland. Ah, licking the neck, let's see, the licking I think would coincide with one of the Highlanders. But that's my theory ;) -- Kira ;), 12:57:38 02/08/07 Thu [1]

[> my thoughts... -- Laura, 23:00:46 02/09/07 Fri [1]

Well, I've just done another run-through of the last 3 books....here's my thoughts on the matter of who, or what, JB is.

At the end of Spell of the Highlander, Aoibheal is clearly in some trouble, and she's arranged things so that 5 of her best and most powerful Druids can be together to help her (though they haven't a clue as to that yet).

So my theory....JB is one of those. He's admitted he's part Pict, and as that's an ancient race and he seems able to walk with the unseelie, move with incredible speed, and to be slightly larger-than-life, I would say he's half-fae, like Adam's son. Only unlike Circenn, he's welcomed his Fae half and learned from his Father (or mother?!?). I would think that his mortal parent was a Druid, and combining the powers he inherited from his Druid and Fae parents, that would make him one formidable opponent. As such, he also possess much more knowledge of the Fae, both Seelie and Unseelie that the Keltar possess...also because he's lived much longer then even Cian, probably spent time among the Fae learning, and also cause the Keltar "lost" much of their knowledge when the chamber was sealed (though they seem to be making a nice dent into that).

Anyways, my two cents worth....JB is half-Fae, half-Druid...and, as all, KMM hero's, ohh, all man! lol

there's way too much time between now and Bloodfever!

[> Maybe. Geek that I am, I've been researching name meanings and inadvertantly stumbled on the meaning for "Jericho." At least according to one website, it means "Nocturnal." That might not mean anything, but "Cian" (according to different site) means "ancient."... noticing a trend? As a (sometimes) writer, name meanings often figure in to what I name a character. -- Melissa, 19:55:33 02/14/07 Wed [1]

[> Jericho is definitely not human -- DeJa, 21:17:58 02/14/07 Wed [1]

JB is always landing or jumping down from a high place, with Black coat (same as black cape) flapping. Even Mac said such a jump would have fractured another man's legs. Also in reassuring Mac he indicated that Malues had been summoned away by someone he could not refuse. Maybe he was referring to the vampire that made Maluse, Jericho himself maybe? ANOTHER THING! When Jericho commented about Fiona SHE SERVING HIS NEEDS did he mean as JUST a lover or to feed on as well?
