On the BBC radio 4 Vanessa Collingridge interviewed two 80 year olds.John Hipkin and John Brampton. At 15 year old John Bramston had a row with his brother, took his bike and peddled down to Swansea docks, joined a ship, missed it in Newcastle, joined SS Lustrous, got caught in convoy by the Scarnhorst, spent five years in German Stalags, the photo I have showing him in prison camp he looks about ten years old.
