to all of you that have answered so far,
at the time some of my crew mates thought me a bit odd,because when we hit port,they would go to the bars and i would go sightseeing.dont get me wrong,i had my turn at the rum and cokes,still do.
i have several postcards and photos of my visits ashore,which i have added to my autobiography of my life at sea.one of my voyages is soon to be published in the magazine"shipping today and yesterday".
hope this helps jerk a few more memories.
