Hello Mike
I could not agree more with you, I only served 13 years 1965 to 1978, but they were un-doubtably the best years of my life, it was only ailing parents, meeting the long haired one, and health problems forced me ashore. There is not one day passes when I dont have some sort of memory of that 13 years. And yes as one of you Gents pointed out I do regret not having taken a camera away with me to have something to look back on ( I only have memories.) nice ones I must admit, Hellfire Corner in Santos. Pussycat Club in Cape Town ( or was it Durban) Boogie Street Singapore. Yes great memories. The kids today have all the technology to play around with, just like this computer, but give me reporting to Mann Island, Shipping Federation in Liverpool not knowing if you would be out with the lads that weekend or if you were signing on an old tub like the Rubens or flying out to Yokahama to join a tanker. I know which life I would live again given the chance. Ill be 61 this year but 65 to 78 reigns supreme.
Harvey.
