Date Posted: 2/09/12 6:35pm ADC 527 was overcome by the bad weather and was lost when she foundered South of Burrow Head, in about 23 fathoms. She was discovered some 70 years later. There are no signs of an explosion. I've written a short article on my website petenicholl.me.uk/page52.html ADC1272 was not lost, in June 1946 she is shown on the Port Ryan bunkering return as having taken on 10cwt of coal during June. Sidney Edwards died in Garrick Hospital, Stranraer, cause of death was Peritonitis after an operation for a perforated Gastric Ulcer some 5 weeks earlier.
