g'day pete. i was on the samaria jul-august 1950.i worked in the platehouse and we only wore t-shirt & shorts,so we could mingle with the bloods in the evening, as the master=at-arms didn't recognise us dressed up. can't remember about the event you say about.we used to go to the dance and i hooked up with a couple of girls. good crew lousy ship. cheers. alf
