The below post is onstage question. This is really evening gown lol. I was able to finish up completely because talent doesn't start until the top of the hour.

Overall, it was a nice group. You do see the same old pageanty Miss America styles that you have seen many times before, but there were some definite standouts. I prefer more the USA/Universe style which are more bold and daring, but to each his own. I enjoyed the competition. The contestants were asked to give a voiceover of their favorite quote but a lot of them used it is a second chance to talk about their platforms. Here are my thoughts on what I saw:

AL-A white beaded top with a white satin bottom. She looked very elegant and had a nice presentation. I gave it a low 8.
AK-Her gown was black on the bottom with a nude top and a nude back cape. She definitely worked the flare. She had a very nice presentation. I gave it a higher 8.
AZ-Her gown was a blue colored beaded top with a blue velvet bottom. She had a nice, classy presentation and walked nicely. 7
AR-She wore a basic black sparkly gown (I think sequin) with spaghetti straps. She is tall and statuesque and modeled nicely. I gave it a high 8. Not quite a 9 but she really stood out, was probably in my top 10 of gowns.
CA-She had a basic white gown with long sleeves some cutouts that you have seen before at Miss America, but she had a very nice stage presence and walk. I gave it a solid 8.
CO-fully beaded either pale white or nude gown. She had a nice walk but didn't stand out like some of the others. 7
CT-Her gown was a very pretty floral and sequin periwinkle. Unfortunately her walk was very slow and tentative, and it wasn't overwhelming. I gave it a 5 (average)
DE-She had the standout gown of the night, whether you liked it or loathed it. It was black with white roses at different places. It was definitely original and daring. The only issue is that she didn't have a lot of energy or stage presence. Had she rocked that, she could have been tops but it was only a 6 for me.
DC-She had a fully beaded gown. She walked very slow and tentatively. She had a tiny bit of presence, so I gave it a 6.
FL-Yes! A beautiful green gown with the back cape which she used and modeled very nicely. Tall, statuesque, and just damned good. It wasn't a 10 for me, 10s are rare, but a very solid 9.
GA-A pretty gold gown. The only issue was that she walked very slowly and didn't have a lot of stage presence. I gave it a 5 on the non-memorable presentation. She spoke very nicely on the voiceover about her parents being Haitian immigrants, which I enjoyed hearing.
HI-I loved this gown. It was a reddish orange with a gold design around the bust. She modeled it nicely, just a very nice statement overall. Solid 8.
ID-a royal blue dress, somewhat flowing. I think she modeled it nicely and had some presence about her. low 7
IL-one of my favorites. It was a yellow beaded gown with a back cape which she modeled very nicely. She had a lot of stage presence and walked with confidence. 9 from me
IN-She looked cute but the gown was a black, forgettable gown. She did okay but wasn't a standout. 6
IA-Sorry, my computer froze when she came out and I didn't get to see it. I am going to go back later and watch and will let you know.
KS-Pretty in a red and white gown. She was "okay" but nothing that would stand out. 6
LA-She had a pretty aqua colored gown, I loved the color. She looked nice but still a bit slow and hesitant. 7 on the look and 6 on the presentation.
ME-She had a black velvet gown with pink trim. I have to say I liked it-it reminded you of a vintage look and she had a lot of confidence. 7
MD-a basic white pageant gown you have seen a hundred times over, but as they say, it is about how you wear it. She had a very nice presence about her. low 8 for me on presentation
MA-another basic white pageant gown, long sleeved. She does have a nice presence about her, a solid 7 for me.
MI-pretty red gown with a cape which she modeled nicely. She has a great look, she was confident and overall very nice. Solid 8 for me.
MN-beaded white gown and she wore it very nicely. She had a nice, natural stage presence. 7
MS-a nice red gown, and she modeled it nicely. She seemed a tiny bit hesitant in the beginning or that something might have been off. Solid 7 for me.
MO-basic white gown, her hair was pulled back, but she has a lot of stage presence and confidence. Another good competition for her. Solid 8 for me.
MT-a black beaded gown with the halter neck. She looked tall and statuesque in it and modeled it very nicely. Low 8 for me.
NE-she had a pretty gown and a lot of confidence. I gave her a low 8.
NV-a gold beaded gown. She has a lot of confidence and stage presence. You definitely notice her. A solid 8 on presentation.
NH-basic white gown. She looked pretty but she didn't have anything that would set her apart. 6
NJ-Her beautiful blue gown matched her eyes and made them sparkle. Nice confidence and presentation. A solid 8 for me.
NM-She had an "okay" presentation but she didn't do anything that would have set her apart from the group. 6
NY-Also a basic white, kind of washed her out. She did have a lot of stage presence though and looked very elegant. low 8
NC-She had a nice presentation, spoke more about her experience competing. A solid 7 for me.
ND-she had a basic beige gown with the back cape. She had a wonderful, statuesque presence about her. A high 8 from me.
OH-Very strong presentation in a green gown similar to FL. She had a very USA type presentation. Very solid 9 from me.
OK-She had a white gown and a nice presentation. Solid 7 for me.
OR-Her gown was very unique and elegant. She had a nice presentation as well. Solid 7.
PA-It was a different kind of gown than we are used to seeing, and I liked it. It was a red and silver design and she modeled it very nicely. Solid to high 8.
PR-She had a nice presentation, very confident. Low 8
RI-She had a white strapless gown. She walked a bit slow but seemed to model okay. 7
SC-A basic navy blue sleeved gown with a halter neck. She looked elegant, understated, and quite breathtaking. Solid 9 for me.
SD-She had an aqua or mint green gown with parts of silver beading. Nice presentation as well. 8 for me.
TN-a white gown with some beading, she looked elegant but her presentation was underwhelming. 6
TX-a beautiful yellow beaded gown. She didn't come out and own the stage in USA style, but she had a natural confidence that translated well to the judges. I gave it an 8.
UT-She looked very pretty but struggled with her walk a bit. It looked like she might have had an issue, but her overall statuesque look was nice. 7
VT-a basic black and white gown, but she had a nice presentation. 7
VA-a basic white gown but she had a very nice presentation. Low 8
WA-She had a pretty gown but her presentation was a bit underwhelming as she walked a bit tentatively and slow. 6
WV-Overall, the gown didn't stand out and her presentation did not as well, it was average. 6
WI-She had a black gown with big white sleeves. When I looked at her face, she reminded me of Carolyn Bessette. A bit slow but classy. 7
WY-Once again with her, she had a nice presence about her. She had a form fitting red gown which worked on her tall frame. 8

We are on to talent now! It was advertised for 7:30 but the broadcast is saying 8 p.m. I'll be live shortly!
