Subject: Aww, congratulations to you and to them! I imagine how exciting it must be. I hope they get to meet her if they haven't already! Enjoy every minute of it. It's always exciting to hear from the winning state after the pageant. Who do you think will take over as Miss AL?

In reply to: 's message, "I’m here and so thrilled! My little girls are practically doing flips off the furniture. Such an unexpected surprise. The whole top 5 was amazing, and I could have seen it going a number of ways. That said, I am confident that Abbie will do an amazing job as Miss A. Congrats to all the girls for a job well done!" on 22:49:38 01/05/25 Sun

[> [> [> Subject: I had just told them earlier in the day that I got to meet Heather Whitestone at her homecoming when I was a child, which amazed them. Now they are SO excited to go meet Abbie! As for who takes over, it’s hard to say. Unfortunately our state voy board was deleted not long ago. It was a great source of information for questions like this. Someone on the guru board pointed out that Emma Terry was 1st runner up to Marcelle LeBlanc when Marcelle won MAOT a few years ago. Emma accepted the crown (and scholarship) after that. Now Emma is 1st runner up to Abbie, who became Miss America. Emma has competed in Miss twice and placed 1RU both times. I could see her accepting the title, but it also wouldn’t surprise me if she decides to compete instead. Alabama often has a girl or two “on ice” that is understood to be a future Miss Alabama. She will almost certainly win in the next year or two.

[> [> [> [> Subject: Heather is my favorite Miss America of all time, and that's saying a lot. I am so happy you got to meet her. I can't wait for your daughters to meet Abbie! I still think that is where the heart of this program is, about being able to inspire young girls. Abbie seems very sweet and I know she will treat your girls like they're Miss America. :)
