Jannell is correct on many points. One being, WE don't see interviews, so we have no way of knowing what the scores might be for that. As far as the judges, we drove 2 hours to get to Calais for the pageant. I would have been more upset at it being cancelled after going all that way, than by what the director chose to do: find fill-ins as quickly as possible. Yes, it was hot (hey, it is August...) But you can't blame anyone for that except Mother Nature. Some people have mentioned they felt that only "local" girls won... Well, as I said, we are from 2 hours away, and Eva won her division. So we aren't local. Until last week, the only contact I had with the direcor was emails. As awards were going out, I wasn't sure how Eva had done. I thought it would be close as to if she placed. But on the flip side, there have been times I felt sure she would place, and she didn't get anything. You just never know. I have always talked to Eva before any pageant, reminding her about good sportsmanship, and smiling, even if she doesn't win. We will be at this pageant again next year, helping out, and when Eva is able to compete in the next age division, we will be there again. Nothing goes as planned in life, and I think the director did the best she could under the circumstances, most of which were not in her control. We had a lot of fun, and I for one loved all the little ones, they were adorable! I also liked Tannis, Little Miss International, who helped walk with some of the more nervous of the younger ones. She did a great job!
