Please make me the first on your "ass busting" list. Also, bring your wallet. I hope you are for real and not just stirring up this old forum. Feel free to post who you are and when you will be at the track. Looking forward to the challenge.

First off I come out there to have a good time and hang out with a great crowd(RPM and others as well). I didnt realize we were getting talked about that much lol. But anyway, make me second on your list and if you outrun me I will shake your hand and tell you nice pass. If I outrun you same thing. Now that that is said, how are we supposed to know who to race since you didnt put your name? SCARED already and aint even lined up with us smh!!!!

[> [> Re: RPM racing team -- Robbie Horn (IP Adresses kinda like DNA), 07:09:58 01/13/15 Tue [1]

RPM guys & gals have all always been some of the best group to race with & hang out with. The RPM gang has spent many of their own hours & $$ working on the track, scraping, grinding, repairing bleachers, painting, & supporting Ken, the track & putting on a damn good show for the spectators. I have personally raced most of them & it really doesn't matter who wins or is faster. There is always no hard feelings and anyone of them will loan out just about anything to help out another racer. The RPM gang is a true hardcore bunch of drag racers that love the sport of drag racing. There is not anything wrong with a little smack talking but it does make a bit of a difference when you don't know who is talking the smack. Kinda like talking behind someone's back like you are scared or something. Well when you post on this board you leave a IP address. With me being the moderator here I can look up who post what on here. I got me an invite to the next RPM get together & I am bringing my computer & am going to show the RPM gang who the smack talker is. It's practically impossible to look up who a person is by their IP address. If they have made a post on here before under their real name, all I have to do it match up the IP address to the smack talker. So "someone coming soon" you have posted on here under your real name and we have a IP address match.

First off...You dont know who I am because I have never posted on here before Mr Horn!!! Second...The RPM group may not be bad people, that is not what I meant. They seem to have the fastest cars out there and that is all I hear blah blah blah. Ok Jeff Denton you will be the first to go down and lose some money. Chris Ragsdale I will take the handshake as long as it has some $$$ in it. Jon and Denise, glad you are up for the challenge. And no Mr Ragsdale I aint scared I just like seeing peoples faces when I show up and surprise them. You all will see soon. Anyone else want some???? Only a few have stepped up????? I dont have to stop at RPM racing. I will take anyones money!!!!!! BATTER UP!

Mr. Someone, thanks for your responses. I agree that this board needs some perking up. Before Facebook this was our main place to go. Maybe we can make it fun again. Now, to address your comments. We have been told for the last 2 years that someone is coming out to get us, but nothing ever happens. We have been told that someone bought an engine from one of our friends from C Town and they are coming after us, but again nothing. We have been told that someone would race us just not at the Hill, but still nothing. So, this SOMEONE seems to be fictitious as far as I can tell. I like to see the faces of folks when they are surprised just like you do, however, COME ON MAN state your name. We will still race you and then drink a cold one with you at the end of the night!

Does it run on propane? Your alternator is on backwards in case you didn't notice.LOL Just noticed the Miller Lite sign that explains it all, looking good can't wait to see it run.

It'll run on anything from propane to pickle juice, it's all in the tune. Miller Lite should give me some sponsor money, I've probably spent more on that than on hot rod parts.

Will he ever come back?? This car has NOT PROVED NOTHING with the traction quality at Prairie Hill. A car of this caliber and money is expected to run at any slick track and perform well which it does. But why just one pass. Why could you not afford to make another one with the $1100? Chickenshit? Scared?

Your post suggests you are a spectator. So you do not have a clear understanding of what it costs to run a pro mod. Our avg cost per run last year was 1800.00 when you figure in all exspenses. Chris is never scared and is one of most wonderful people you will ever meet. He made a good clean run well below what the car is capable of and set the new track record. We did what we came to do. Test the car and give the spectatorss some new excitement. Chris and the crew were very polite and humble. the track crew was professional and were extreemly nice to us. we will be back if there is a venue for us to run.

100.00 low et wont bring out fast cars.Cost min 200.00 to make the trip down there.not saying we would win it any way but u need more low et money for fast cars to come.More fast cars more people in the stands more money for the track too.Put up 500.00 low et and 500.00 track record watch what u get to show up 10 or 12 cars plus the people they bring will pay most of the money if not all of it.just a thought

Camand lifters were removed but rest of short block still together with about 50 passes on it 20 of those with a 140 shot to run the 5.80. The heads are 990's that need to be worked. I was still running them when I pulled the engine butneed freshining. Has stock balancer and flywheel. Double roller chain with chrome cover and valve covers. Has comp pushrods. Super victor intake. Has the one piece oil pan gasket so could be removed for inspection and put back on. This engine with the 990 rect. Port heads and a 722 roller ran 6.30 on motor and 5.80 with a 130 to 140 shot. Have videos of the last weekend it ran which was in the 5.80 index. Have 4 passes including the last pass it made before pulling the motor and selling the car. I now have my motor freshened and am only selling this one to help go towards a new chassis. Asking $1500. What is sad to see is that there are no updates, no race results, no times, no winners, no Low ET's posted anywhere for PH Dragway. As much as I appreciate Robbie Horn and his efforts to promote the track, there is much more missing that the public wants/needs to hear about the track than is what is being posted.
Am I the only one that thinks that the Prairie Hill Dragway is missing out on a lot more than they COULD have simply because of a lack of race results posted and a lack of advertising?
I can not help but to think that there are less racers and spectators simply because a lack of advertising and the lack of racer participation that follows.
I plan on returning to the Hill with my ride this fall, that is, if the track is still open.

Barry they have been posting results on the prairie hill dragway website. I don't think they have got last nights on there yet but they have been posting the results on there for a while now. There is a link to it under the pictures at the top of this page. You know that you are more than welcome to come and spectate. I think Ken will let you in without your racecar.

True enough, I think Ken would let me in without my race vehicle, I would pay my way in like anyone else would and should. I know I don't have a door car at the Hill yet, but I do like to keep up with who is running what and what times they are running with it. Sort of a way of finding out what my competion might be if I were to one day achieve the lofty goal and perhaps have a door car. Yes, I agree that if I want to know everything that happens on any given race night that I should be there to witness it firsthand. I just choose to not spend those hours standing around at the trackto find out the results. My bad.
That being said, I believe that I am not the only person interested in racing at PH that does not attend every race night. I also believe that there are other potential participants that watch this site that have an interest in racing at PH. I understand that it takes a few days to get race results posted. What I don't understand is why the posted results are sometimes 2 or 3 weeks behind.
From this day forward, I will quit sounding negative about my perceived lack of up to date postings, whether on this site or the official PH Dragway website. It is what it is.

Accident -- BULLITT CHASSISWORX, 10:06:57 06/24/13 Mon [3]

How did the little boy on the four wheeler fair ? Is he ok? What were his injuries? Are there any rules going to be enforced? This could have been a really serious accident. What if that were your own child ?? I'm not pointing fingers at all. I'm just thinking of the safety of the people In the pits. That night of the accident I thought I saw security people there?? Maybe there should be some guide lines or rules that maybe they, the security, could enforce?? Does any one on here agree or disagree?

Were the winner and low et times posted on the official PH website?

Hey Jeff,
My plan is to let a little more rubber get laid down downtrack. My engine and transmission is in the chassis but no heads on it or anything else. I believe that I found the source of my engine hurting itself (five bent rods and 7 collapsed piston domes) and why it was not producing the horses it is capable of. If I am right, I am looking for 220+ mph. Hope the shut down area is long enough. That barb wire fence at the end won't help much. I will be back to the track soon, just not sure when.
Thanks for the question,
The Old Gray Haired Guy In The Blue Shirt

Do I read the posting correctly that the 5.80 index class allows open wheeled vehicles to complete in the 5.80 races?
I thought the 5.80 index class was for door cars only.
BTW: I have two dragsters for sale that would run this class. These run 5.30's and 5.50's but detuned would be very competitive, both BBC w/powerglides, chrome moly chassis, race ready.

First it took longer to get the boards from Race America, they had to be programed to work with our system (Portatree and not Race America timing system)Second, they were lost in transit from Cal., and finally I am having to deal with the owner of the property that I have a lease with. It's taking time, the boards are in my trailer waiting to be installed, but I have to deal with some legal problems regarding my lease. As soon as I dot all the i's and cross all of the t's and protect my investment they will be installed.

Track surface -- Alfred Whiteside, 23:04:42 04/27/13 Sat [2]

I Applaude the guys that spent their time surfacing the track. This past Saturday night was the first time I have been out there this Year. A few weeks ago I was down the road about 45 miles running, and the best 60 ft time I had In Peanuts Camaro was 1.448 and Saturday night at the Hill I had a 1.407. The track is working and I see it to only get better, better enough to maybe bring out a Red Camaro. SIDE

[> Re: where are the cars? -- Barry, 19:21:46 04/23/13 Tue [1]

My opinion is that I see next to no advertising, not a very noticeable sign on the highway, the official website is months out of date most of the time, not all racers interested in racing at The Hill are on Facebook, I know I am not, the Low ET money for open wheel racers is only if 4 or more. When are there 4 or more open wheel? I have already taken myself out of the running a couple of years ago for Low ET money, so why the 4 minimum? I think the Low ET competition might bring a few spectators. These minimums only limit the number of interested racers but also limit the number of interested spectators. I think the minumum should be two or more. Not four. Me excluded.
Several dedicated racers have spent numerous hours making improvements to the track at their expense. How about the track making some better terms to attract more racers with faster cars?
Just my opinion.

The spectators make the track money for the big pay outs. And from what I have seen they are not happy due to the low car count and the weather. Just my two cents.

IN MY OPINION, WHICH NORMALLY ISNT WORTH A BUCKET OF PISS, IS PRAIRIE HILL IS A GREAT TRACK TO GO AND PLAY. AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE, ITS A GREAT PLACE WITH GREAT PEOPLE. BUT ITS STILL AN OUTLAW TRACK. IT WILL NEVER BE THE CALIBER OF A TRACK SUCH AS CRANDALL.. IF YOU WANT THE BIG BOYS TO COME AND PLAY YOU HAVE TO PAY THE BIG MONEY AND HAVE A VERY NICE FACILITY. AND I ALSO THINK STICK CAR RACER IS RIGHT ABOU THE OPEN WHEEL. WHEN ARE THERE EVER MORE THAN TWO? AND THE NO E CARS HAVE A BIGGER PAY OUT THAN THE OPEN WHEEL CARS..JUST MY OPINION...

My engine is still in pieces and so is my want to to work on it. Maybe they will both come together in a month or two.
You about ready to step up your steroid program with a HEMI with a motorplate for a powerglide? Simple changover for less than a new chevy motor.

Oh yeah, I remember you calling it a stick car. No problem from me. It is pretty long, alright. 285" center to center but it pretty much takes that wheelbase to handle the ponies and give enough flex to handle a few bumps in the track at 199+mph(only 178 in the 1/8). You said if your motor had a block problem you would just weld it back together. Is it an aluminum block? The KB hemi I have for sale is all aluminum, a Stage 8, .100 tall deck with 4.375 sleeves (and 8 additional finished honed sleeves), raised cam block with gear drive and a billit oil pump available. KB or AJ 6 bolt intake and a large journal 296* cam / .500 lift cam in stock, too. Stage V rockers arms in stock. You might be surprised at how little difference there is in the cost of moving up to a hemi. I have some intakes, 14-71 Littlefield Hi Helix blower, fuel system parts, etc, etc, in stock now.
BTW, I need some chrome moly tubing welding soon. Are you interested in doing these mods in my shop. If I have any chassis mods done, you are the one I want to do them.
Let me know.
Thenks,
The Old Gray Haired Guy in the Blue Shirt

Well, 13 1/2 to 1 compression is a good starting place for a naturally aspirated alcohol engine. But if you get the CR up to about 15 to 1, you will see the difference in performance. Yes, it takes better engine building skills but the improved performance is well worth it.
I texted you my contact info about the chassis mods.

Why don't you two get a race car with doors? Too much of a challenge?

I am still trying to figure why in the world I would ever think about trying to propel a racecar that is heavier than what I have now down a race track. I thought most racers were looking for a way to lighten their car, not run something heavy on purpose. Heavier is only better in tractor pulling. I don't get it. Then again, I don't have a door car. If I had a door car or maybe just wishing that I had a door car at all, I would think the same as "henry". I'll "stick" with what I have.

Wow, time flies when you're wanting to get back out. Thanks for the update Ken. I'll be out this year, but I'm still not as close as I'd like to be. Just need a little more $$$$$.
