Outlaw 5.80 & 6.60 Race March 24th -- Racer_Jeff, 07:03:30 01/26/12 Thu [4]

The first points race of the 2012 season will be March 24th. $50 entry. 100% payout. The point system will remain the same as last year; 20 points if you qualify/enter. You and your entry fee are commited when you roll into the water box for your first qualifing session. 20 points for each round won. 5 points to #1 qualifier. I will keep a log of every pass. See everyone in March.

How about the 6.60 racers? Who is planning to show? Points begin March 24th. I am looking for someone to promote and manage this class. I have a system that is very simple to use. Any volunteers?

Fast Four Door Car/King of The Hill Race -- vennor, 13:49:27 01/19/12 Thu [18]

Need input. Who would all be interested in doing a "Fast Four Door Car/King of the Hill Race" Once a Month, instead of a Low ET Door Car payout???? Pro Tree, promote side by side racing, grudge racing, etc, vs single pass TNT runs. "It's not just about the fastest car, it's racing!". One qualifying time trial and then pair em up to race. I see some smack talk on here and think spectators would like it too! What ya think?

Yes Robbie door cars only. If PH track would put in the $100 that they pay Low ET... plus $25 from each racer entry (some skin in the game) then PH could also pay first place $100, second place $50, third & fourth $25 or break even (guaranteed). If more cars enter, then more money for the Four Top Qualifiers to divide up. Cranking up the N2O and see some low 5 second door car races.

We could structer the payout diffently ...good topic of discussion...first & second place would work...the main idea is all King of The Hill entries be paid up before the qualifying run starts.

No Steve we run 5.80 because we like that number. Plus there are more cars in and around our area that can achieve that and be easy on parts. We are not rich people.

i thought that Crandall used the rules from the 5.80 index .com which states that the 6.60 class runs on a .5 tree. I know they use those rules for the 5.80.

there is nothing interesting about the 5.80 class. its as boring as bracket racing. over half you guys break before the finals. people want to see side by side racing, not one guy going up in smoke and the other running off by his self. props to you though for running 5.80s. my budget doesnt allow it. maybe in a couple of years when the kids get out of school.

Need to know if the class is going to a 5.50 class. I think it should stay a 5.80 class. Not everyone can just go out there and run a 5.50. If it goes to a 5.50 class you will probably have less racers. just wondering what route I should go... Hope everyone had a good new year. A few months to go.

Wayne, it is 5.80 & 6.60. Hope your car is coming along well. Not sure what bug is up Steve's rear worrying about everone else's cars. If Steve makes it to the final round he can run it all out if the other racer also in the finals agrees. Just bring it!

It's all about running a 5.80 here isn't it? Just in case you didn't know there is more racing than sandbagging a car to run a 5.80. Just because I think that 5.80 is too slow when 5.50 would make it a better and closer race. I bet that all the 5.80 guys can run a 5.50, think about it this is RACING not being conservative.

This message board is about talking about racing and keeping all informed . And, yes Steve you are right. Most of us could run 5.50. But, there are many more that can run 5.80. We want to stick with that for now so more of the DFW & Austin guys can run with us.

Steve when we (Monzter) meet in the final we can run all out. My car is set up to run 5.80 without the juice. A touch of the button will only add more. So bring on that all out in the final. Oh if the Big D boys we race with in Pro 5.80 are in the final, I would recommend not all out for you. Most all of them don't run the Juice for 5.80 but have it and also run a 5.30 index with it those big Reher-Morrison 565's crank out some HP ..just saying.

OK....the racing withdrawls have kicked in. I need some updates on the winter time projects everyone has going on. I do know a few racers progress so I will inform ya'll on what's up: Sgt. Joe is getting his motor freshend at Ed Morrow's shop. Says he found more horsepower! We will see!
Jon has a new toy. Can you say 4 seconds??!! Poor Denise has to settle for that slow old white Nova!
Robert S. is making nice progress on the new Studebaker.
Me.... well going on a diet. The blue car has lost almost 100 lbs. and is getting a complete rebuild on the engine....which is for sale.

Pro 5.80 for DFW & Outlaw 5.80 -- Monzter (Life In The Fast Lane), 14:34:11 12/19/11 Mon [3]

DFW Pro 5.80 group has posted their 2012 race season dates for Dallas Raceway & Redline March - Oct. Can we make sure that the PH Outlaw 5.80 dates don't conflict. This year I think we can get North TX & Central TX 5.80 racers into both programs for a higher car count & more race dates. We had a great time racing both programs in 2011. I see both these 5.80 groups growing.

Steve the Outlaw 5.80 rules mirror the Pro 5.80 rules so as to gain racers so each track doesn't have different rules mainly on setup....but anything can be changed to increase car count.

I am not sure but maybe the lack of posts on here may be due to A: the lack of a racetrack local to PH to run our cars or B: the LONG load times of this site due to the loading of the YouTube embeds. I, for one, hardly ever go to this site anymore because of the long load time. When I do comee to this site, I usually minimize it and do other surfing while I wait for it to load (btw..I have 25 mbps download speed and it is still slow). I'm just saying.

There are some of you bracket racers that can run the 5.80 index. Come on out and join us. It is a lot more fun to tune the car to run the number. Or if you want to chase and sand bag. In heads up no sand bags needed. Come on and get some. But I think it is a lot more fun than that bracket stuff.

You callin bracket racers sandbaggers when you have a car that is quicker than a 5.80 so you sandbag it down to run the index. If you want everybody to stop sandbagging and let it all hang out just bring it and see who's chasing who...opps forgot you are a 5.80 racer.

I like both types of racing, I just prefer the 5.80 cause it is heads up. And yes both classes "sand bag" but if we want to run em all out and see who is chasing who, I'm up for it!!

Hey at least I got some feathers to fly on this page again it was really boring to look at. Now sice I have yalls attention in Prairie Hill land I was trying to get some more folks to run the 5.80 index with us. And yes my car will run faster than 5.80 sec. but I tune my car to run as close to the number I can get it at full throttle Steve. So not sand bagging on my side. Just fun to see how close I can get it.

Hmmmmm If you bring your car to the track and it is faster than a 5.80 and you detune it to run slower IT DOESNT MATTER HOW WIDE OPEN THE THROTTLE IS because you can slow it down (SANDBAG) another way. I'll sanbag with you and run a 5.80, ONLY if the final can be run heads up balls to the wall no breakout, NO SANBAG.

u can run all out as fast as u can in the finals with no breakouts first one to the finish line wins if both parties agree to it i did it last year so stop talking and just show up we need some more cars in the 5.80

I think this guy is the one that bought the little gocart car that was suppose to run 5.80 on motor. But all he could get is a 6.0 out of it. He did talk shit to me at the track once about power adders. If it is him he needs my motor and he would be able to go to ADRL.

At Steve .. I don't need any N2O power adders for 5.80 all motor here Steve... so what, who cares and some of the others too run all motor and tune them for 5.80. That's not important if you got it or not. So join in we don't care if you got N2O, Blower, etc..we just want to build the 5.80 program with more door cars & left stear Roadsters and more payout!!!!.. bring it all on! HEADS UP RACING! Thanks to everyone that came out this season, we had a good year. On 10/29/11 we ran our last race for 2011, we had a great 5.80 index race and bracket class. We are planning to open 3/3/2012 weather permitting. Will have track meeting in Jan. 2012. We will miss our Prairie Hill Dragway racing family over the next couple months, please stay safe and happy holidays.

We are hoping for about 10-12 cars. Payout is 100% plus the added $100 from the track. Pays 4 places with 8 cars and 6 places with 12 cars.

Might add that there is the possibility that someone could get a really nice 540CI KB Stage 8 aluminum block high compression hemi 4.500 stroke with some Alan Johnson alky heads with your fuel injection tune-up for about the same price as a chevy motor. Injected or nitrous or supercharged long block is about the same price. Adapter plate available to mate a Powerglide or Lencodrive. I have most parts in stock.

If anyone is interested or might know some one I am selling an air compressor and a truck. The air compressor is a Craftsman 33 gallon horizontal, 150 psi. It has only been used a couple of times at the track and at home, less than an hour of run time on it. I paid $380 and would like to get $250 obo. The truck is a 78 Chevy 1 ton dually single cab. It is the blue one I tow my car out there with for those who know me. The truck no longer has the 454 in it, it has a 350. I am asking $2000. The track pays 100% to the racers plus the extra added money. There will be no 5.80 race that night(Oct. 15th) due to another event. They will run 6.60. The ladder is formed from qualifying and the tree is .400 You get 2 qualifying passes(one in each lane). You can make time trials before qualifying begins. The payout is based on how many cars enter. Usually pays 4 spots for 8 cars and more for 12. It is up to the track officials to determine. They do things fair.

The next big race is Oct. 29th 5.80 and 6.60 All the players will be there. Hope ya'll can make that one.

1/4 Mile Pass -- Hemiracer, 17:39:57 09/30/11 Fri [2]

Hey Ken,
We are coming back to the track Oct 1 to try again at a successful 1/4 mile pass and another track record in both the 1/8 and the 1/4 mile in ET and MPH. We are still looking for a 4.10/180+ 1/8 mile and a 6.50ish ET with a 210-220+ MPH in the quarter. Please prep the track accordingly. I would prefer to make an 1/8 mile pass first and early enough that we can do the 1/4 mile attempt in daylight. It got a little out of control the last time out in the dark on the 1/8 mile shut down. I need to get it right this time.

About par for the luck I seem to not have. Everything on the heap was ready until I tried to start the engine for the last time before loading it into the trailer Saturday morning. I hit the start switch and found that the clutch pack had gotten so hot on the last 4.24 pass from two weeks ago that it had expanded the ring gear and had come off of the flywheel. Could not make it to the track that day. I have since taken the engine and trans out of it and replaced the ring gear. Ready to go now. Just waiting on the weekend and the rain.

I hope you two are going to run the 6.60 index this coming Saturday. I know there are several cars/trucks that run close to that number that could do the index so get the word out. The awards on Non Electronic bracket series have been moved to 10/1/11 on our next added money night, some of the prizes we order are not ready..on the 10/1/11 we are planning brackets, index, and street class, we have posted ASAP.We hope to see everyone at the Hill tonight. I know prairie hill puts on a big race the last of october.Maybe you could have a 660 race that weekend along with your other races for that night.We could get 6 or 8 or maybe even more cars and if you could get about the same amount would make for decent car count.Let me or jason either one know what you can come up with .Would like to come down and race with you.

We have received several calls from concerned racers and fans telling us they heard that THE HILL had burned. That is not true and we will be racing this week-end. The fire was with-in 2 miles of the track and we did receive some damage from the wind but it was confined to our travel trailer and will not effect racing. We attempted a 6.60 index race and it fell through. I have talked to several racers and they want to try again. I will see if the track will promote an index for the 6.60/6.50 racers....stay tuned.

Jeff, I checked the 660 races for up here and there are two more races . The first one is sept. 24 and the second one is oct, 1 .I personaly am going to be at the texas motorplex for the division 4 bracket finals the weekend of sept. 29 / oct. 2 .You might check and see if sometime after that about trying to get a 660 race scheduled .Thanks and let me know how it turns out maybe we can get something put together .

Jeff Just found out that the 669 races up here have been changed because of the dallas nationals at ennis .The last two races will be oct. 1 and oct. 22 . Sorry about the mix up. Any other time would be ok so let me know what you can come up with .

I was out at the Hill this past weekend tuning a Cummins diesel powered Pro Street truck for next weeks finals in Topeka Kansas. We had a good time and it looked to be a very good turn out of racers. I stayed at Cooliage that night and the next morning we could smell fire really strong from the North, but we later heard in town that Praire Hill dragstrip had caught fire and did a lot of damage, Im hoping this is not true. If so what was the extent of the damage? Tucker

The points season is finished for 5.80 index. Planning a bonus race first Sat. in October and maybe another on the Halloween race. We need to have a drivers meeting for the index racers before the first bonus race to review the season and to make any changes for the rest of this year and into the next.

I would like to thank everyone at the track for all you all for the support. For the most part the track has been really good for as hot as it has been this year. Same here, I had a blast even though I didnt make it out near as much as I had wanted.
