Subject: Observation of 5.80 Class
In reply to: fact 's message, "He had to earn it.This car has absolutly no electronics.Came to test and helped make an 8 car field." on 20:08:59 06/25/12 Mon

Here is some of the contents of a personal email that was sent to me concerning this subject. Sender is Summer. Thought it would shed a light on this conversation:

"I saw your post on the prairie hill board today so thought I would take a minute to drop you a line.
Paul took his car to test it. He did not even know there was a 5.80 class going on. He also did not know they didn't have nitrous either. He hasn't had his car out very much at all. Just got it fixed last week. The track came to him and asked him to run in the race because it would give them a full 8 car field. He was low on nitrous and told them that. He told them if they wanted him to qualify he would. But, they told him he didn't have to.
He ended up by chance winning the class race. He had to earn it for sure. He has no bracket aids on his car. He also had no idea what his car was going to do. He had a good time just racing for once.Just thought I would let you know what was going on.
The track talked him into it."

This was my response in return:

I have no reason to doubt what you say. However, that being said, Paul should have inquired about the other racers agreeing to him running without qualifying.
As for him earning it...I don't agree...He was given a freebee chance and made it. Earning it would have included qualifying for his spot.

I feel strongly that we who know the rules of the game should stand up for the integrity of the show. Otherwise it will in time become a show that is weak and stands for no certain rules or rights for the racers.

As long as you are agreeing on the rules, one of the rules are that once you enter the burnout you are commited to pay the entry even if you can't run the number. Therefore you need to find who won on the nights yall did this and pay them the entry fee. :)
