excuuuuuse me for bringing up things past. I was just relating MY personal experience with the Booster Club. And since the Same Seven were always seen this past season at the table, selling 50/50, or wearing their red smocks for other stuff, one can only presume that the same 7 are still on the board, or at least involved in all the important decision making. And, yes, I did everything that was asked of me, but there was no face time with players. I did not get into the booster club for MY OWN GLORY, but a thank you and a little 'fun' grunt work would have been nice. Instead of a guilt trip for not contributing with money and gifts.
I had 2 kids in school and I went to PTA, Booster Club meetings, and was a board member on each several times. So I DO know what I am talking about.
Me thinks the poster of the above posts was one of the administrators from the other board, even tho they said they had only been a member for 1 year.
Anyway, I'm done with the subject. I've said what I know to be true, felt it only right to get the info out there, and just want to get away from the 'controlled posting' at the other board. (by the way, she DID not post mine, and has removed several others. Why not just delete the whole thread? Oh, controlled free speech, right?)
So, I apologize if I bothered anyone with the info. If things have changed within the Booster Club Board and membership, GREAT! I do just want to add that talking to fans from other teams, they all seem to have the same issues with their Booster Clubs, too. "The Insiders" and then the "Newcomers" who are blocked out of most of the planning, events, and 'insider' stuff.
Yes, I would like to see a Booster Club continue...if we have a team. And I would hope that these posts have opened their eyes as to how they are perceived to be by the multitude of fans. So they don't keep making the same mistakes and running off new members.
Yeah, let's focus on the future if we have one. If you want to join the Booster Club, power to you, hope it works out for you and you can make a difference! I guess I just don't like being bossed around at my ripe old age.
