 Yates is like a super-villain. He the Forced Folder!! Stalking the night to waste the money and fold the teams.
I'm not so sure he wasn't brought in on purpose at the behest of the owners too shut the team down. (It's a lot cheaper, especially when you're already tired of it.)
That explains why his wife still lives in Texas; she knew he wouldn't be gone long.
