While I wasn't there, it's my understanding that Crystal had a fairly successful send off party and has received donations made in her name, not the organization's. The point you miss is that ISA agreed to pay Crystal her prizes and awards after they were informed by MAO that they were fired and in the holding pattern during their appeal. Now they are refusing. If MAO had control of the money they'd see that Crystal got paid for her airfare. So ISA revoked their promise. People were complaining that there needed to be a "cease and desist" order to prevent them from draining the account, which included the money in prizes and awards they HAVE given to Crystal and Peyton. That's one reason I'm not sorry the flow of funds to them has stopped. Experience tells us to expect the worse from the AS & GS, but maybe they've been told to stop. I don't know. Yes, for the ticket money from this year's pageant. But what about the rest of the money the organization was holding onto? Since that money does not belong to the organization and no one is taking their cut, I would say she can pay her own way to AC. The cruel, mean-spirited derogatory comments on here for the last few months have finally shown me that I don't want to come back to volunteer. It is specifically because her funds aren't associated w/ISA, & because she has access to her money, that Crystal can afford to pay for her own ticket. All the previous formers had to wait for their money, including that collected in their name at their send off, to be doled out at AS's discretion. For this reason & many others, other formers & their families paid a lot more out of their pockets during their tenure than Crystal's family is being asked to do. Crystal is not the victim. AS set the tone for the direction of the organization, picked the judges, and was still very much involved with decision-making all week at the pageant, even though she was distracted by the other goings on (MAO, WGN). Ever since Art McMaster (her safety net) left, her strategy has been to say she was leaving just in case MAO decided to finally act & get rid of her. That way, she could always say, "I quit you first." It has been a transparent strategy and has played out exactly like that in this forum. Up until recently, she was continuing to pay Crystal's expenses, as noted in a previous thread on this board. But ultimately, again, AS is only a small part of this conversation, so no need to get one's pants in a bunch.
