This is nothing new! It's all about the numbers and rebuilding the program.
I do feel sorry for that one teen contestant, though and she should file a complaint against the organization.
And it is who you know and how often you compete. The pageant bug is hard to shake, once you get involved. It's addictive. And girls will do anything to go to state. I just hope they are proud in how they received their title, because it wasn't deserved.

No one wonders why the numbers are low. The numbers are expected to be low as the program recovers from the abuse of the previous group. Also, no one, least of all the new team, wants a talentless, brainless titleholder, so I'm not sure where that comes from; nor am I clear how the occurrences of last night can be blamed for tarnishing an already obliterated reputation. Undoubtedly, what happened last night was inexcusable and I guarantee Ashley and her group were neither aware, nor approving of it. That said, I'm certain the board felt in the beginning that it was only fair to give some local directors the opportunity to make a fresh start, abide by the rules and show good judgment.
