This can't be settled on the voy board, probably shouldn't be discussed on the voy board and it isn't even any of our (the voy board's) business how these questions are satisfied. It just has to be addressed by MAO if he's going to continue to be involved in ANY capacity. I neither know nor care if he's on a bid, although I have heard he is behind one, just not on the paperwork. I don't even know him. He may well be a great guy and it's clear he's invested in the organization. I'm just saying when there's an allegation like this made, you can't just ignore it. Such a passive-agressive approach. Smearing someone with unproven gossip and demanding they prove a negative is bullshit. There are plenty of people who would line up behind him to speak up about this stalking farce as we are now emboldened to speak our own truth to power. For clarification, Doug Black's treatment in WI had nothing to do with Christina Thompson. He worked with several Miss Wisconsins after her. Where he got a raw deal was getting falsely accused of taking Laura to Fran Skinner and her Dream Team. When MAO found out that Laura had worked with Fran, Amalia and MAO threw a fit and called the WI directors. He got thrown under the bus for Laura working with Fran, which was absolutely ridiculous. Fran and Doug were both helpful to Laura and she would not have won without their help. MAO's fear of Fran is ridiculous and reflects poorly on them. He was one of the early defections from the Miss Illinois board under Amalia's reign of terror and went back to Wisconsin, where he had worked before. But Amalia was constantly trying to have his badge access at Miss America blocked or have him blocked from judging state pageants.
