Subject: Or perhaps she has now decided to attend a four-year college using the scholarships she earned along the way. Isn't that what the program is supposed to be for? Man, you folks are vicious. Many people finish their college degrees in their 30's or 40's; not everyone does the four year thing right out of high school, and that's o.k.

In reply to: 's message, "https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Davis
Although obviously written after she won and chock-full of detail, this Wikipedia entry makes no mention of Crystal attending Southeast Missouri State University. It says she "attended" Shawnee Community College. So, one might conclude she is a 22-year-old who (apparently) has not even graduated from community college. It's not where she's attending that's important, but how honest and/or consistent she has been. Expectations and accountability in our program need to go up.

You're really reaching. She told people before the pageant that she was attending school at Southeast Missouri State University, as well as saying it at the MA opening ceremony. In no way is it vicious to point out the discrepancies in someone's story. She's the one who told it. And I would assume someone who knows her helped with the details of that Wikipedia entry, but left out her actively attending SEMO. It's absolutely fine to put off one's education, but be honest about it. If that prevents you from being successful in the MAO, then maybe it's not for you. The point is, scholarship is one of the four points of MAO and it's an insult to those who take that seriously for someone to lie simply because they feel entitled to compete without doing the work.
