Subject: Here's a link to Murphy's speech: http://www.collegesports.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/colm/genrel/auto_pdf/DianneMurphyAddress It's 12 pages long, but it's worth a read. I suspect she's a control freak. Note the talk about dress. But I'd hire her in a minute for Fordham. Her message strikes me as playing much better at FU than at CU.

In reply to: Drag-less 's message, "Well, why don't we wait and see. I've heard of new brooms at Columbia before, and nada happened. I seriously doubt that 95% of the faculty, staff, and students at Columbia give two hoots about the football team. As at Fordham there probably are dispirited people over the chronic failures, but Murphy just might lose her job for her boldness. Stay tuned. I guarantee that many at Columbia are ticked at her right now." on 20:43:54 11/10/04 Wed

One last point: the president of CU was there for her speech, so he is probably on board with her program. And he was formerly president of Michigan. (NT)Drag-less21:15:30 11/10/04 Wed

She has her work cut out for her. Her only shot is if the trustees are ready to spend big, big bucks and the president backs her with the faculty who will go nuts the first time she says athletes should get priority scheduling. For Columbia to even be competitive in the Ivy League would go down as one of the great turn arounds in the history of college sports. If she can do it, there's hope for Fordham!
