That'd be an interesting scenario but it's unlikely to happen. Richmond made promises to Clawson which will keep them at the full scholarship level & competing in markets well beyond the PA/NY/Worcester Patriot League corridor. And from what I hear re: Nova, their board is resolved to continue playing their traditional football rivals Delaware, Richmond, William and Mary, etc. I think our choices will be full scholarship 1-AA football in the "new", upgraded CAA or stay a need-based aid program in the Patriot League. I know it's not likely to happen, largely because of the PL's "holier-than-thou" attitude on scholarships. The PL should stop trying to be Ivy wannabes. It should allow the full 63 scholarships, recruit Nova and Richmond, and become a league of top-tier academic schools playing I-AA football at its highest level.
