Re: Not related but significant; Austin Peay leaving Pioneer to join OVC; IMHO, Duquesne will step up to take AP's spot in Pioneer rather than join PL. Accordingly, PL will be set at the present 7-8 teams for the foreseeable future. The good part, however, is that a 12-game sked opens up present PL membership for very good OOC matchups. None of the teams that the PL wants(Richmond, William and Mary, Nova, etc.) will join because they won't give up full scholarships and the schools that want to join the PL(Duquesne, Stony Brook, Albany, Marist, etc.) can't get in because the PL doesn't want them. 12th game would be great if we could schedule a quality OOC game or a $$ generating I-A game, but we don't need another scrub team to play against. If we can't get good teams to play us now, should we really expect that the 12th game will be easier to schedule? (NT) PA Ram 10:07:27 04/14/05 Thu

Playing a 1-A full scholarship team with need-based aid players is a tricky proposition. I'm uncomfortable putting our kids on the field in that situation for two reasons: potential for injuries and recovery time. Neither is good for our program.
