Subject: BC, ND, etc.... On the other hand, VU & GU.... I dont get the impression that Villanova or Georgetown find much value in the "Catholic college" concept. I think GU tries to play up the secular positon more than anyone, and in my opinion they should be ashamed.... (ie GU: crucifixes taken down in the classrooms- wouldnt see this in 5 million yrs at ND)

In reply to: Rambacker 's message, "I don't think we need an all Catholic football conference. I'd rather play a good mix of top level 1-AA programs like Villanova, William and Mary, Richmond, Delaware, etc. and continue to schedule two Patriot League teams plus Columbia per season. By the way, I don't advocate a move to 1-A football. If that were to be considered, we would need to play competitvely and fund properly a full scholarship 1-AA team in the CAA for a number of years first." on 15:01:25 03/14/05 Mon

From the Georgetown University website: "Crucifixes and Religious Symbolism. The University has placed a wide variety of crosses and crucifixes, with descriptions of their particular significance, in all Main Campus classroom buildings, with the exception of the Bunn Intercultural Center, where there will be rotating symbols of the various faith traditions represented on campus." Inside this post is a link from their home page directly to their page which contains that passage, and discusses their Catholic identity and activities in detail.DamnRam14:32:49 03/15/05 Tue

The URL for the link to Villanova's pages on the topic is, as well as their statement on Catholic identity, is inside this post.DamnRam10:46:02 03/18/05 Fri
