Westwood's 12-0 season also has produced two Division I-AA college football players.

Cody Kritzer, a two-way standout and two-time All-Bergen tight end, will play at Fordham and Ralph DeBernardo, an All-County center, will attend Columbia.

Kritzer also was a first-team All-North Jersey linebacker with 120 tackles and 11 sacks. He had 23 catches for 360 yards and seven touchdowns for the North 1, Group 1 champs, including four catches for 64 yards and a TD in the championship game. DeBernardo, who is 6-4 and 255 pounds, also was a second-team All-North Jersey and third-team All-State selection.

"[Kritzer's] the only tight end Fordham is bringing in," said Westwood coach Joe Gambardella, a former defensive coordinator at Fordham. "Columbia is a great fit [for DeBernardo] because of the academics and the proximity to home and the opportunity to play."

I always liked Joe Gambardella and the spirit he brought to the game. Also, thought he was a good defensive coordinator--problem was that we had little offense when he was here. (NT)OldRam12:20:37 03/16/05 Wed
