True, but they were prudent enough to acquire properties off-campus, or should I say they were forced to acquire properties in order to make a campus. I've always thought of them as a comparable institution due more to their commuter school history and struggle to transform into a national caliber residential-based school. I don't know the details of Northeastern's co-op program, but if it is anything like the other ones I have heard of I am not a big fan. I don't like the idea of going to school one semester and then working the next, to me that takes away from the college feel and college life in general and turns it more into a vocational school (albeit professional vocations). To me it does not work well in a Liberal Arts university. I guess it all depends on the details, but off the bat I would say it is not right for Fordham. (NT) -- J�Dete93, 08:31:40 12/14/04 Tue

I can see how it would be disruptive to the collegiate environment, but such tracks can provide very definite advantages as well to both students and the school. As Fordham is in NYC and plays up the professional opportunities in all of its recruiting pitches, I think at least having an optional track available through CBA and the Communications Departments, for example, would be a very strong plus.
