Subject: Not my point. It isn't always practical to get input. Which alums would you ask for input and how much detail do you ask for? You hire professionals to do a job. You have to let them do it. If there is a structure in place to solicit this kind of advice, like am athletic committee, I'd agree. I don't think you just solicit feedback without structure.

In reply to: DamnRam 's message, "For projects like this alumni input is ALWAYS important and appropriate, even if no one alumnus the sponsor. Alumni are constantly barraged for requests for money, to attend events, to hire recent students, refer potential students, etc. - it's foolish to think we shouldn't at least be asked for our ideas. To imply the Administration couldn't benefit from the experience and input of alumni is simply naive and arrogant. It's also one reason the alumni giving rate is so low. Ignoring the alumni produces apathy, getting us involved in planning stages produces emotional commitment." on 10:51:13 12/03/04 Fri

Since the upgrade plan IS in place. Can anyone tell me where I can get a look. I dont care how formal a drawing or if its just a sketch. Want to see where lights and scoreboard will be placed. As well as colors and insignia at midfield. (NT)classof9312:35:28 12/03/04 Fri

There is a structure in place (Gridiron Club), and the Administration could send emails to the student body and known athletics contributors, put a notice on the website and this board, etc. with a message as simple as "Here's something we'd like to get your thoughts on. How can we make it even better? Send all ideas to Dr. Byrne's office by X date using Y email address or Z phone number". Fordham knows how to find us for fundraising purposes, they certainly could show respect for our opinions. Sometimes the best ideas come from your customers. (NT)DamnRam14:08:29 12/03/04 Fri

Were "the professionals" right about the way they handled the radio tower? The Athletic Department? PR for the school? (NT)Tesla16:11:13 12/03/04 Fri
