You think thats alot? You should see how many messages we don't approve, three times the messages that you see. It happens every year, trust me. In my opinion, excessive support messages (talking about 1 per minute) harms contestants in different aspects. I personally see the message board is now open to contestants, their relatives and friends and no more space for fans who dont know them in person. Thats sad, I know. But hey, if you think about it - Its a competition after all. We all do that (in a respectful way) when it comes to support Egypt in Miss Universe. So I typically know how it feels to support someone in a civilized way.
I wouldn't blame the contestants. I would say relatives and friends are the ones who post these messages. I agree that contestants don't have the time, but that doesn't mean they never wrote stuff about themselves. We review users IP Addresses and we kinda know who is who. Same thing with Miss Photogenic, if the systems thanks you for your votes, it doesn't mean you vote will be counted. Only the 1st vote from that IP Address counts. So I hope fans aren't wasting their time voting more than once. I didn't need to mention that at the Photogenic section. I thought it was kinda obvious.
The number of support messages on our forum doesn't mean anything, they don't improve a contestant's chance of winning or anything. Its just a motivation. I noticed that no one mentioned a word about a contestant. I met her in person and I have to admit that she has what it takes to be Miss Egypt. Last year, very few messages were about Meriam George. But guess what? She captured the crown. So don't worry if you don't see many messages about your favorite. She still might be the next Miss Egypt
