Subject: MY THOUGHTS ON ELHAM'S GOWN Author: Aiden [Edit] Date Posted: Saturday, October 08, 04:41:37pm Ok, so everyone seemed to be thinking that Elham was on fire until the evening gown presentation. Firstly, I would like to say that this gown is not simple and classic like the one Arwa Gouda wore last year. The cut and the material is quite avant-garde. I must say, though, that I LOVE THIS GOWN! It is not too ethnic (we all know ethnic gowns do poorly at pageant events) and the colours are bold so Elham gets noticed. A few people mentioned that it does not look ironed but I think that gives this gown an "aged leather" feeling and it really is something that I wasn't expecting! The blood red mid-section is very captivating and it really accentuates Elham's killer body! Most pageant fans enjoy the simple and over-used dresses like the nice one Miss Brazil is wearing and the one Natalie Glebova wore during Miss Universe for example. But let's face it. These simple white dresses, although pretty, are boring! We seem them every year, year after year and it does not show innovation or personality! Elham's gown screams personality and looks like a mix of gothic and arabian flare! I honestly think that while Arwa took the elegant route last year, Elham is taking the sexy fiery route this year and I like it. I'm glad she didn't copy Arwa's presentations because she is not Arwa! lol She is Elham and she is different! So in the end, I am very pleased with this gown. It is new, it is fresh and it is grabbed my attention. Even if Elham's chances of placing are decreased because of this gown, I am glad she, Mr. Spahi and Face2Face have the guts to select something that is cutting edge, modern and unlike the rest, while still looking awesome! For that, this dress wins hands down! It takes a very special lady to properly work a red or a black dress. Elham did it wearing both colours! This dress is A++ in my books. P.s. I like her hair down! Don't put it up for the finals. Her long curly hair compliments the gothic feel of the dress! The gown that has either people loving it or hating it is due to a few factors. 1. Unfortuntely this dress is one of those that must be see in real life to be appreciated. It was designed for her body. This is obvious by the form fitting structure of the dress. 2. The red and black and Elham's white skin might be a tribute to the colors of the flag (Egypt's Flag) Far shot but why not. 3. There is one short-sight and unfortunetly which is Elham's fault. The dress' bottom needed to be ironed out. I am sure it was wrinkled due to the packing. 4. All picture's of the dress are head on. If we could see more of the dress (side and back) I'm sure we could see the beauty of the dress and elham in it. 5. It should have been the duty of the organizers to make sure Elham has more than one dress with her. Not a matter of showing off, what if the dress rips or get stained? 6. Even if the dress is par (which it is not) Elham carries herself in it with such grace (with the exception of the group photo) that it offsets the gown. 7. The colors of the dress is lost in the technocolor of the other gowns. Black and red are as simple and as contrasting as can be. that is why she looks better alone rather than with the rest.
