Face To Face is a co-organizer in the upcoming event of Miss Arab World 2006 which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt this weekend.

The event was scheduled months ago and even though Face To Face was hoping to postpone it due to the recent situation in Lebanon, the co-owners refused.
Lebanon was supposed to be represented by Sandra Saiegh, who was the 1st Runner-Up in 2004 Miss Lebanon but she could not make it to Egypt due to the war.
about 10 Arab countries are participating in the event that will be aired on Melody TV. There are ladies from Syria, Jordan, Sudan, Morocco,...etc.

Egypt and some other nations are represented by TWO girls!
Egypts representatives are SISTERS! Samah and Dina Adel the 1st and 2nd Runner-Ups of Miss Egypt 2004!

Congratulation Fawzeya ur the best
I think she will represent EGYPT in a very good way & she'll surprise all of us like Arwa Gouda

from the begining I said Fawzeya or Engy will be the queen as I gave them 4.75
Fawzeya was so confident , cute & attractive

Meriam George: I guess u r the most beutiful Egyptian girl at all. hoping to c ur movies soon (ur mu queen)

Saly Shahen: u r so cute & u start ur way in m.media but I hope u'll jump to higher livel u really have to be

I guess Maris was in a wrong place yesterday bcz she was not one of the best 10

I was so happy to c Antigone Costanda

I like Karem ur cliver & good speaker but I hope to c a new announcer next year

still there r many to learn from lebanon in organization & shows

I was shocked bcz in the 3 festivals (Mr. Egypt & pre-final & final Miss Egypt) there was only one Egyptian Singer out of six

Where should I start? I have to say i was quite impressed with the way Fawzeya performed the night she won Miss Egypt, she knew she was glowing that night they gave her the crown. Tonight i watched the Miss Universe Beauty Paegent, Fawzeya i have to say you when you were on that stage you had full self esteem! Great Job...

Its honestly very sad what happened to the message board and the website, there are no new pictures or news or anything, this is honestly dieing.

In the past pictures and news were posted all the time and the world knew what was going on with Miss Egypt and got people excited about it, but now no one from missEgypt.com gives the website any attention whatsoever !

So Miss Universe is tomorrow and this year there will be a Top 20! I really think that is a generous year as there used to be a Top 10 only 4 years ago (the way I prefer).

Anyways, with 5 extra spots I truly think that anyone who doesn't make the cut now doesn't really deserve to, as 20 semi-finalists has been the highest ever and really opens the door.

Fawzeya won the title of Miss Egypt on April 18th, 2006 and quite frankly after that night NO ONE REALLY ADVERTIZIED HER TO THE WORLD. I saw her: a) Miss Egypt headshot, b) her winning reaction photo, and c) a picture of her in some Egyptian fashion show and that was it. Three photos....Compare that to the 100s of photos Mexico and Puerto Rico had. Fawzeya had more than 2 months to prepare for Miss Universe (where as past Miss Egypts only had a few weeks) yet MORE was done for past Miss Egypts than Fawzeya, which strikes me as odd.

I really don't know how Fawzeya felt in L.A. because THIS SITE AND MESSAGE BOARD WERE FROZEN FOR ABOUT A MONTH.

There were rarely any candid photos of her available as the more extraverted delegates got the attention of the photographers.

Her initial interview showed us how shy she is. It was nice to hear her speak in English but I would've hoped for some extra spunk like Heba El-Sisi.

Her national costume was pretty but I didn't get it. I thought that was her evening gown at first until someone told me it was her national costume. Heba had a stunning costume and Meriam had a nice one too (really symbolic)...I didn't get why Fawzeya had a plain one.

The one area Fawzeya shines in is her body! VERY SLIM, GREAT HEIGHT AND WELL TONED! She had no hesitation to where a two-piece bikini and that showed confidence.

I think Face2Face made an EXCELLENT choice in picking Fawzeya's gown! AWESOME COLOUR, GREAT FABRIC, NOT TO ETHNIC AND IT FITTED HER LIKE A GLOVE! IT WAS TRULY A RUNWAY DRESS, WHICH IS WHAT MUO LOOKS FOR! HER GOWN WAS MY SECOND FAVOURITE GOWN BEHIND MISS POLAND'S DRESS! Fawzeya's catwalk during this portion also showed how good she is as a model. If she makes the Top 10 and has to compete in her gown PLEASE LET HELL NOT TO HOLD THAT PINK SCARF as it is distracting. The gown by itself is stunning enough!

I now want to ask if Face2Face tried to copy Sarah Shaheen's experience in Puerto Rico during MU 2001 with Fawzeya. Simple national costume, pink dress...I just saw the similarites, that's all! =)

With the war occuring between Israel and Lebanon, I'm pretty sure neither of those 2 countries will be included in the Top 20. I hope Egypt isn't cut out due to this too, just because Egypt is a neighbouring country. I also mentioned before that MUO usually selects semi-finalists based on regional/continental areas. The African continent this year is somewhat stronger than past years but not the best region. Ghana is the media favourite (only because she is tall because her face isn't that appealing.) and Angola, Ethiopia and Namibia are pretty but not standouts. I hope MUO reserved at least 2-3 spots for Africa in the semis and if they do I wouldn't be surprised if Egypt makes it. Her gown presentation alone should've garnered her very high marks.

I think if Egypt happens to make the Top 20 we won't be able to see her evening gown as only the advanced top 10 get to showecase their gowns and this year the delegates all have AMAZING bodies. But getting into the Top 20 would be good enough.

I hope Faweya has a great time and enjoys every second of it. I also hope that when she come back to Egypt she or someone else can update the fans on how she felt during the competition. We were all here supporting her but our messages weren't posted!

As of right now, Fawzeya is in my personal Top 20 depite the lack of publicity Face2Face made.

Although I feel that Heba El-Sisi is still the strongest Miss Egypt to compete in Miss Universe, I think that with a Top 20, there are bound to be some surprises but we'll just have to wait and see.

Good luck!

After I saw Fawzeya's photos in the competition of miss Universe,I compare them with Meriam's ones ...
I think that I didn't have to do this , because the difference is enormous and very clear, Meriam was really the ideal for represent Egypt as a universe beauty queen.

I accidentally came across this message board and I want to congratulate Egypt on their new Miss and Mister winners.

I don't know much about Egypt. All I know is that it is an Islamic nation. However, I am curious as to how your country can be so open minded about beauty pageant vs Indonesia which attacks it. Both are Muslim nations. How do the public view the pageant and do you have a swimsuit section? Is it ok for a girl to walk the streets in a tight fitting jeans or a short skirt?

I look forward to seeing your delegates compete internationally.

Geneviève de Fontenay, the self-proclaimed president of the Miss France organization which is now owned by Endemol, recently appeared on the talk show Incroyable! Mais Vrai! on TF1, the same network that broadcasts the popular Miss France pageant, along with the current Miss France Alexandra Rosenfeld. Both women expressed their utter aversion towards surgically enhanced beauties and pageants that obsess about them - a sentiment shared also by many pageant fans and beauty experts. Madame and Mademoiselle's brutally frank comments have been transcribed by Audrey Mouge for the news section of TF1. Critical Beauty has translated the French article for our English-speaking readers. Here it is:

GENEVIEVE DE FONTENAY

“Today, 90% of the participants have their lips plumped up with collagen, their faces injected with botox, and their breasts looking like soccer balls. It’s “Barbie and friends.” How do you expect Alexandra – no matter how charming she is – to compete with a girl who has gone ten times under the knife? Some of them even have their plastic surgeons as their best friends! Blame it on the Americans! They allowed that the candidates be reshaped. What do you want?!!! The Miss Universe pageant belongs to billionaire Donald Trump and you can’t even talk to those people! Sometimes I want to boycott all these international pageants, but even if I don’t send a French representative, they wouldn’t care because they would invent a Miss France as a substitute. And even if we haven’t had a Miss Universe in 53 years (Christiane Martel won in 1953), that doesn’t prevent me from sleeping. I prefer to come empty-handed rather than to have a Miss France with silicone implants! I am proud to say that in France our Misses are naturally beautiful, spontaneous and fresh. I admit that I have not examined the breasts of every Miss to see if they are real or not, but in general they are 100% natural. On July 23 and 24, I will be commenting on the Miss Universe pageant with Christophe Roux and I am not going to be bothered by what I say during the program. And since it will be a live show, no one can cut me off!”

ALEXANDRA (MISS FRANCE 2006): “I can’t compete!”

“I will never be Miss Universe! Going to Los Angeles, I don’t even have a chance! Let’s get real. Out of 87 girls, three-fourths of them are redone from head to foot. They’re extraterrestrials, and I can’t compete with them! I really dread making this trip knowing that my presence there would be insignificant. The personality of these fabricated girls is totally the opposite of mine. I can only hope that my roommate is nice… Let’s be positive. I have to consider the competition not as a torment but a unique experience. I’ll be more of an ‘observer’ than a candidate. Sylvie Tellier told me everything. She met so many mind-blowing girls that these international beauty pageants have become the best memories of her reign. Some of these girls spend their time admiring themselves in front of the mirror or dolling themselves up. They’re narcissists who are crazy about their bodies, obsessed with their manicured fingernails. Even if it’s 104 degrees outside, they don’t get in the hotel swimming pool for fear that their hairdo would be ruined by a wavelet. To these pageant maniacs, being a Miss is a real job. As soon as they notice the cameras, they become ecstatic. The trigger intoxicates them. They smile on cue, flirts with and blows kisses to the lenses. It’s scary. These “dolls” don’t know how to enjoy life. Encaged in a superficial kingdom, these young beauty queens must be really unhappy.” - AUDREY MOUGE

when will the rest of the pics be out?
I watched Hany El-Behiry's latest fashion show in which Fawzeyya was an honorable model and modeled the same gown she wore for the final night with the crown, she looked wonderfl, a real queen, I wish we get some of those pics!

My suggestions for competitions for this year:
1. Fawzeya Mohamed Ms. Universe and maybe Ms. Inter Cont
2. Reem Helal Ms. World
3. Rasha Hassan- Miss International or Earth
4. Nisreen or Christine if not too old- Miss Inter Cont or Miss Global International
Some Semi finalists that could be happy surprises:
5. Salma- Send Her To Miss Africa International very well recognized competition. She would be admired and she would sure win the title and bring a back a new title to Egypt
6. Sara- Miss Earth or Global international. Her pa She is well fit for an international show and I think her past experience would put her on top, she could be a lucky surprise like Arwa Gouda (she reminds me a lot of her ) or Ines Gohar.
7.Marize-Tall, perfect size for model. might need to lose some weight, but she is perfectly fit to represent Egypt. surprise she didnt make it further

MISSES VENEZOLANAS INVITADAS A MIPCOM

My favorite African delegate in Miss Universe was Atetegeb Tetsaye of Ethiopia. To me, she epitomized the quintessential African ebony queen: tall, graceful and ebullient. Her only other rival would be Egypt's Elham Wagdi who drew a lot of attention in Miss Earth with her whistlebait figure and her warm personality. The GB judges gave the highest points to Elham in the Best National Costume category, even surpassing Margareth Wilson Chacha. Elham wowed the audience with her deluxe Cleopatra get-up complete with a snake headband and a shimmering pair of gold lamé wings. (4/23)

Lubna Amin, the only Egyptian contestant left has been voted-off for elimination for the first time this week. Lubna who has always wowed the audience and the judges with her height and grace was not judged fairly during the evaluation this week. The head of the jury, Amanda Delipin who is a professional model was abscent and the judge was left to Murielle Angilopolo "an unknown designer, still a judge" and she insulted Lubna by saying that she is NOT a haute couture model material and she is only good enough to model in atulies! Actually I think that Lubna is the most perfect girl to become a model in the competition! Lubna, Reem and Chris"who already left" are the best!
Im really pissed-off because the undeserving ones are staying, the very short unproportionate ones! And there is an obvious bias towards the Lebanese contestant, Karen "just compare how many times she appears on the camera to ohw many times does Lubna" I do not argue that Karen is beautiful, but she is too short and a bit stocky to be called a super model! She should have joined Miss Lebanon.

Anyways, help Lubna to stay in the game and vote for her:

Call 1416 from any mobile in Egypt and vote for #1 Lubna Amin, or send an SMS to 9323 with 1 only in it.

I was surprised when I saw Elham didn't win the best N.C. on GB awards, I really can't understand why GB judges and all the judges of international peagents prefer thoses NC covered with very big fethers, and enormous forms, and are too heavy to be worn for more than 30 min.Costumes which Latinas usually wear, i know it represents cultures like the old Inka culture and others, but i always thought NC must be what people actually wore in the past, they must be costumes that makes us recognize the country the second we look at them, and not like those latinas' festival things which can't be differed from each other.
Would you agree with this or I am the only person of the world who thinks this way :P
