Sara, Salma Amal, Magdoline, Nancy, Chrisitne, Mahinour. They are Beautiful girls maybe the best out of other girls. But One question is always brought up, Is Size important, Does beauty count too? Are we just picking tall girls to represent us who don't have the looks of a perfect or fit model? It might be the case, we focus a lot on height, maybe thats why we don’t get the best girls. Those girls have the beauty and they sure have the looks. Especially Sarah, Salma and Amal whoa re 167 cm and they do meet the height requirement for universe. So do you lose all the beauty for the height? I think if any of those girls win, they will represent Egypt great and maybe they could be like Miss Mexico who was only 166 c.m was 2nd runner up at universe last year. Sarah has a natural beauty, she looks amazing confident and wonderful in her pics. Salma looks great, she has the look and potential ofa great model to represent Egypt.
However, the question that won't shut is: when it comes to beauty contestants, does size really matter?? Isn't it the overall presentation, beauty and charm that should count the most? Pageant history shows that height is not as important, as for instance, as it is for a runway model. Miss World 1963 stood at 1,63 m, and so did Miss World 2000. Then we had Miss Universe 1963 (1,68), Miss Universe 1997 (1,68m), Miss Universe 2002 (1,69), in addition to countless beauties who also faired well in international competitions. Also Miss Universe last year Miss Mexico was only 166 c.m and was 2nd runner up and a favor.
So to end this Size shouldn't matter, a total package girl that is fit, cute, and can speak good English should represent Egypt. I have heard in past years many of the competitors that don't make the finals don't make it because of language. a good example was Miss USA last year and many other miss USA contestants who are always in finals mainly because the way the speak and express themselves with their average beauty puts them ahead of our competitors and many others. Lets Face it! Its Reality! I personally put Sarah, Salma should be heavy favors and if not two front runner ups for the crown. I give the edge to Sarah though. Point proven I think height is not as important as much as we emphasize it.
Thank you

- Karine Fahmy was the second shortest contestant in Miss Egypt 1998. She was 166cm and she won the pageant. She did an excellent job in Miss Universe. Miss Universe tends to choose tall winners tho. Amal Shawky was the shortest contestant last year and she was the 2nd runner-up and Miss Alexandria -- Site Admin, Monday, April 03, 08:41:58pm

- ya but come to face. Where is amal shawky now?..she never represented us abroad, fine she was a runner up but whats the use of she is NOT* gonna participate abroad. -- La Chica, Tuesday, April 04, 12:00:20am
- I totally agree with you! A beauty queen must not be a super model! she must have a proportioned body and a beuatiful face plus her personality. A beauty queen has much more than a model because she does notdepend on her looks only "ncluding height" and as the Admin mentioned, Karine was and still one of the best Miss Egypt's despite her height! and btw, it was Aliaa Shawky ast year, not Amal Shawky. -- fan-man, Tuesday, April 04, 12:04:55am

- Being tall has always been a signe of beauty exactly like being well proportioned or slim figured (along the last 20 years or more). It is very rare to find a winner in an international beauty contest with less than 170 cm height. Personality etc is important but we can not deny that after all it is a beauty contest. -- Dan, Wednesday, April 05, 06:59:53am
