That is absolutely true. Brian's fans can go too far in their admiration of him. He was, after all, deeply flawed. But I think they're doing this at least partly in reaction to the unfair negativity about him. That's my theory.

Ed King up and left his band right in the middle of a tour. One night he just decided he'd had enough and packed up without telling anyone. They had to figure out a way to fill in for his guitar parts before the next show. Talk about letting your bandmates down, yet I never heard or read a negative comment made about him for this. At least publicly. But to have been a fly on the wall when they found out! LOL.

Imagine what we'd be hearing today about Brian if he'd done the same thing! I seem to recall reading that he thought about not going on the '67 European tour (after the Anita thing). The things we'd hear about him today had he done that!!!
