In this picture, the builder, who I'll call "Tinkerer" appears to be traumatised. From the group photograph, Tinkerer's staring look seems almost trance like. (If you note Brian's sister is also staring, but in an uninterested way. Of all the mourners, she seems to be the most detached; but to be fair, Barbara does have piercing eyes which tend to look through you rather than at you.)

In the picture you've 'reassessed' so very well, I'd say that Astrid may have said something, either inappropriate or shocking. (From Bill's book, I believe he said that Astrid looked after Anna in the days following Brian's death, so it's possible that Anna did divulge some delicate information to Astrid.) This 'remark' has caused Charlie to really glare in her direction (with a look to tell her to button it), and cause Shirley to look so sharply at Tinkerer. To me it does look as if Shirley is, despite her eyes being hidden behind her shades, looking directly at Tinkerer.

Judging by the humble demeanour of Tinkerer, I can't imagine that (if Astrid has said something), it is specifically accusatory towards Tinkerer. I'd plump for something like. "You fucking builders have got a nerve turning up to Brian's funeral." I'd definitely rule out Astrid coming out with something like. "You bastards fucking killed Brian." I don't think many people would react with a bowed head if they had something like that heaped on them.

I don't know who the guy behind Astrid is and his expression is harder to call. I'd say it was a kind of knowing look, as if to say. "Well this just confirms that I always thought there was something dodgy about this whole affair." Perhaps he knows Tinkerer, which his look seems to suggest is a possibility, and that is the reason his facial expression seems a lot calmer than Charlie, Shirley and Astrid's. In fact this guy's look could almost be saying. "Just keep your head down Tinkerer and don't loose your cool and blow it now".

I'm not sure if Swedish folk use the 'F' word, so please forgive any over use of artistic licence on my part.
