My vote is for Linda Lawrence; he really seemed to genuinely care about her. If he hadn't become famous (and been so young and stupid) the relationship could have lasted much longer. I'm sure he never had reason to doubt her feelings for him considering where he was in his life when they met.

He did at one point seem to want to reconnect with her but his desire to shield and protect her, from what he considered the crazy evil rock lifestyle, made it impossible.

Sad!!!
