When I started posting on this board, I would ask folk if they wanted anything done on the anniversaries. I think the first time this happened was in conjunction with the unveiling of the Eldorado Road plaque. It always interested me to see who would be in attendance at such events. Although, being incredibly shy, I stepped back from the throng and from interacting with anyone. I did meet a gal up there once whose love for Mr Jones just made me feel pity for her. But of course each to their own, especially where the Brimeister is concerned.

Well not many folk on this board took the initiative of me doing anything for them at Brian's grave on these anniversaries. Gerry did ask me to put a red rose and a message up there. I did that, but it ended up in conflict between me and she, when I believed I had asked her an innocent question, 'Why do you call him Lewis Brian?'. I had thought it might have something to do with the time Gerry met Brian. Of course I know that Brian was always called Brian, so I was kinda doubly intrigued why Gerry wanted Lewis Brian on her message. Anyway, I may have asked in the wrong way. Maybe I was being a particular pain in the bottom at that time. I don't know. I have noticed that innocence and plain honesty on message boards sometimes create the most suspicion, and this message board did have/has a history of fraughtness and me and Gerry ended up falling out. It may even have resulted in my first banishment from LARS, but I suffered that fate on several occasions, so I can't be certain.

The one person who did have enthusiasm for the tribute to Brian plan was Water Dragon. So I emailed privately, and went on holiday for a couple of weeks wishing I hadn't taken on something that meant I'd gone beyond talking on a message board. Upon my return, I was surprised that Water Dragon turned out to be a gal - I think most people in Jonesville probably at one time thought Mary was a guy. I was further surprised when Mary gave me complex instruction for her tribute. I can't remember exact details, but her tribute involved procuring three votive candles, one yellow, another, sea green and a black one, which had to be arranged in a certain way before being lit. Of course there were words and a card also. So this really was the start of finding entertaining ways of remembering Brian on his anniversaries. You may have seen some of the pics of his smoke enshrouded grave in Jonesville, as that became the medium most suited to bringing some attention to this largely forgotten man. As you probably know Mary recently died. It happened on the first day of 2010. It is only in her remembrance that I will continue for the forseeable future to put a diary at Mr.Jones' grave every New Year.

I have no affectionate remembrance of Mr.Jones. I did/do have (what is now proving to be an intuitive), fascination for Brian Jones' life, myth and legend. There seems to be a new piece of jigsaw turn up every now and again, but we all know that jigsaw will never quite fit together. Just why the Brimeister is pulling me into his world remains a mystery to me.

OK. Your questions! I have no details about the plot you mention, though I've heard the story from several people.

I think if you check old pix, you'll see Bert's shining headstone exactly as it is shining today. It is a little ornate, so I'd be highly surprised if a replica of the original has been produced. Another Trigg family grave can be found directly behind Brian's. Oh, and they were jalapeno red hot great grand-daughters!

I can't think of anything mildly interesting about a visit to Prestbury cemetery. Mostly weirdness. I've related stories about the 2009, forty years gone event which you've heard before. That really was an insane crazy, crazy day. But hey, I got the tee-shirt, literally, from a couple of Austrian fans who'd put a bit of thought into their visit. I've since passed the tee shirt onto a real Brian fan. The Austrian fan is coming back this year with his sister, so perhaps I'll tempt him with this Bent Rej book I have, and I'll have his sister instead of the tee shirt. Well it is a large book - originally priced at £250.00. So his sister better be a looker!

I have a feeling that this very long reply falls short of expectation. I no longer travel up and down the UK, passing through Cheltenham on my way, as often as I used to, so my visits to Prestbury are few and far between. Try as I might I can't come up with any memorable moments though I think I've given you a fairly generic overview of the Prestbury experience. Oh, you can actually hear commentary from the racecourse if the wind is blowing that way. I'm going to try out a new eating place in Prestbury. It's an ancient pub with thatched roof et al, so I'd be surprised to see laminated menu. I think it would be a place condusive to talking all things Brian. I'll keep a seat warm for ye if you like!

Of course on posts this long the grammar will have to be accepted with a degree of understanding from the reader!
