Subject: Targeted by Hate

Yesterday while web surfing, I came across a few anti-Christian sites that were...really bad. They were extremely hateful...on a Ku Klux Klan level. This wasn't honest criticism--which I often have to agree with--these sites were just ugly and vile. One called Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer (the two relief workers who were arrested last summer by the Taliban) "evil" and referred to all Christians as "brainwashed zombies". Another called Christians "dogs and bitches".

I seem to have been exposed to several instances of this sort of vile hate recently. A few weeks ago I watched a pickup truck go through the drive-thru of the local Burger King that was flying two large flags, one a Confederate battle flag, and one picturing a skull wearing a Confedate hat in front of the stars and bars. The truck just seemed to scream "white supremacist". Then I ran across an essay on the web about the Hebrew Masoretic text of the Old Testament written by (someone who has the audacity to call himself) a Christian that was so anti-Semitic it made me feel ill. But yesterday was the first time I ran across this form of vile, overt hate where I was part of the target group.

If this post seemed a little meandering, forgive me. I'm just feeling a bit disconcerted right now.
