• Now I don't mean to offend, but I often wonder if Baby G himself was funny. I like to think that he was, along with being spiritual and passionate. Believe me, I'm not looking to get struck by lightning (saying a little prayer), but if we feel this way about Eddie, I wonder if this is the feeling that people got around the world when they met some very attractive people, not attractive in the physical sense, but in that pull to the soul, to the inner spirit, whatever makes you YOU.   • **Blasphemous comment to follow, so those who might be offended, please scroll past** Interesting thought, Rox -- and one that begs the question: if Baby G and Eddie maintain a similar sort of "cultish" power over people, shouldn't we assume, then, that Baby G had far more of a sexual draw than the Bible has thus far led up to believe? I know some very religious people get very upset at the thought that Baby G might have been a sexual being, but I think that it had to be *possible* , at least.....and that perhaps, he made the decision to make a sacrifice of that part of his person....like priests are *supposed* to do.             • I don't know enough about the Bible to be able to talk intelligently about it for too long, but is there anything that Baby G said or thought or believed that was particularly *anti*sexual, or would lead us to believe that he would not utilize his sexual (whatever) towards the betterment of his agenda?               • Hmm, I can't say anything specific, I'd have to have memorized the Bible, which I haven't...but I don't think that he would have really *used* his sexuality - that would indicate a different intent - but I think he would have been attractive to some people in a sexual way, just like any other human being. The idea of being celibate comes from when he told the apostles to form the Church, and that they should not take wives, because the Church would be their "wife" - meaning that their lives would be dedicated exclusively to their beliefs, that having a wife would not allow them to be completely and fully dedicated.                 • Yeah, you're right -- *used* isn't exactly the right words for what I was trying to say, but you got the gist of it. Interesting, that the logic behind celibacy is based on "best use of time", it sounds like, rather than being based on any sort of moral judgement. Who knows? Hell, we don't even know, really, what Baby G looked like. He could have been hideously unattractive for all we know. But I still think that a large part of creating a cult of personality is having that sexual shazam that just makes everyone weak in the knees...
