Subject: Removing paneling by thermostat

I have a 1979 BlueBird Wanderlodge with an A/C problem. Power has been traced from the compressor to the thermostat but the repair guy cannot further trace the problem without removing the paneling. Are there any suggestions as how best to remove the paneling without damaging it?
