Chuck the old RCA camera and go with a new camera and lens. I replaced my camera with an Ultrak KC4500MN with a Pentax/Conica wide angle 4.0mm lens at F1:2 with Auto Iris. Be sure to specify the 12 volt DC model. This is a direct bolt in, direct plug in replacement for the RCA. However, the picture on the monitor will be reversed left to right because the new camera has the picture corrected left to right but the old RCA did not. You can correct the picture with two 30 amp. Bosh relays which reverses the signal to the left/right yokes on the TV when the ignition is on. Cost is about $450 for camera and lens and the picture is brillant.

Bob, what was your source for the replacement camera, and was your wiring compatible. I was told by Foretrave service mgr. the WHOLE existing RCA wiring system was not compatible with any other camera and would cost $2600. to install new system.
