Subject: An answer to Romans 6 exhortation

Written by His Servant:

Rm. 6:
1. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2. God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

One little fact I would like to point out here regarding that phrase loveth in those verses. This isn't speaking of the worldly type of love that man has for one another in the natural, but rather the Greek phrase for that is agapao, which comes only from God I believe. Because I do not believe that man is capable of loving others totally unconditionally except God bringing this kind of love forth within mankind in a mirculous way that you know without a doubt could not be the result of self whatsoever. And unless you have experienced this within you, I doubt that you can know what I am talking about to be honest. But that is the kind of love these scriptures are speaking of.

Response of squeak:

I don't disagree with what you said here, except that you left off the pertinent beginning to the first passage. You must read Chapter 5 before you can understand the exhortation of Chapter 6 and why Paul is giving it.

In the text you will find the question, For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, MUCH MORE those who receive abundance of grace of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Basically he is saying that where man's wickedness was applied universally, much more will grace correct the problem-where sin abounds grace abounds much more. Adam's deed of unrighteousness isn't more powerful than Jesus' atonement. And because it was universally applied we can expect to recieve grace in abundance of what we have been given of Adam's nature.

Now the answer: Therefore as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation even so through one Man's righteous act the FREE GIFT came to all men resulting in justification of life.

People read Chapter 5 with so much bias on the point of reception being something that man can either shun or accept. Yet, no one that I know has been able to reject sin nature or death by their freewill. So Adam's curse will be greater than Jesus' atonement? Adam's was universally applied without our consent, thus the gift is also universally applied without our consent, some of us understand it earlier than others. Because Jesus makes it quite clear, that his (God's) act of righteousness is greater than Adam's (man's) act of disobedience. Is unbelief a sin Jesus didn't die for?

This is why Roman's 6 exhorts us not to take advantage of grace! And how much more sense that makes, when you actually understand what grace truly is. Because if it was conditional grace (which is an oxymoron-btw-and no grace at all), then there would be no need for the exhortation. People would just understand that sinful unregenerated life had its just reward. Yet Paul here is saying that no sin is greater than God's grace. The reason he is exhorting against sin is the very reason people question universal salvation. They say: why bother living for God if he is going to save everyone? Why indeed, it is answered in Romans 6. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? CERTAINLY NOT! Paul was preaching the truly good news. And you can't understand his exhortation unless you understand his message in the prior chapter. JESUS TRULY DOES HAVE THE VICTORY! SATAN DOES NOT WIN. HERE'S THE SCORE:

Jesus- 30 Billion souls
Satan- 0

Really Jesus' number is infinite to man's counting system as God promised Abraham that their number would be as vast as the sands of the shore and stars in the heavens! What a glorious God we serve. It is all about Grace!

Sincerely :)
