I've never heard of a flouroscope ,what fancy shoe stores were you going to.All through the sixties we had to go to Bathgate to get our shoes as Blackburn did'nt have a shoe store ,even in the seventies I still went to Bathgate as the Co-op did'nt have much to pick from.I dont remember ever seeing that type of contraption in a shoe store in Bathgate.I've said it before.....and I'll say it again....the most exciting thing that ever happened in Bathgate was the day that Francie and Josie came to open a new electic store (I think it was Curries) and I was there ....and I saw them.Just a glimpse,as I think the whole of West Lothian showed up that day.The second most exciting thing was when The Alexander Brothers showed up to open the newly expanded "music box" record and musical instrument store.I was there that day too and I still have there autograph.According to my Mother, when I went up to them to get the autograph, one of them (the big one ,I think)asked if I was a fan and did I listen to them, and I apparently bawled at them "naw this is fur ma aunty Ann she telt me to get this" and then I marched away, to howls of laughter.I think I was only six or seven at the time, but when my Mother tells the story and is asked how old I was she always says "oh I think he was about eighteen or nineteen.
