Subject: I read the same thread you did including the comments asking where her former right hand went and someone saying pay attention to maintained relationships with formers - so I guess there were different interpretations of the information conveyed, do with that what you will. saying she was nice to you in passing, versus people asking those questions and what was clearly a former saying what a bad experience she had, leads me to the conclusionn it wasn’t just speculation or unsubstantiated claims. You can either understand succession planning has to happen and that people can treat people differently, especially behind closed doors, or you can live assuming everybody is what they present in a two second convo at MNC… I don’t know how to put it any simpler. Subject Author Date Well, if it were a former posting, I know for a fact that Delores had a queen a few years ago that gave her many problems. It seems the girl wanted the title and the scholarship, but did not want the duties associated with the title. The girl did not even show up for her farewell. Delores told me all about it at the time it was happening. So, there are two sides to every story. But if living in the delusion that of the 100+ girls who have been crowned by that local in the last 30 years, less than a quarter of those come back to the local (but some go to locals of other titles they had?) is all of the girls’ fault and not the experience they were given at said local then rock on. For a third and final time, talking about bringing in younger folks to at minimum assist, without them being run off by someone who has to be nearing 90 is not anybody being mean. It’s discussing what it looks like for that local to still exist. If Delores can’t handle that, or her defenders can’t either, maybe you don’t have that local or MNC delegates’ best interest at heart. Respectfully, decades in a role doesn’t make someone above criticism, it just means they’ve had decades to get it right. If multiple contestants across different years are saying the same things, that’s not a smear campaign… that’s a pattern. Nobody is owed silence because of tenure, loyalty, or friendships. Titleholders deserve to be treated with respect, transparency, and professionalism… every single year. If the program truly reflects empowerment, then listening to concerns shouldn’t be a problem. Dismissing them as “one side of the story” without actually addressing them is exactly why people keep speaking up. We want better for these girls and for the program.
