They're arguing that although Trent screwed up we shouldn't let our enemies (the Cong. Black Caucus, Demoncrats, NOW, etc) pick who our leaders are. The enemy of our enemy is our friend. Also, since Robert Byrd used to be in the KKK and just last year referred to "white niggers" in a TV interview...and since Jesse Jackson called NY "Hymietown" and since Hillary referred to somebody as a "fucking jew bastard"...it's hypocritical for the Dems to attack Trent and therefore he shouldn't have to step down. Just like most of the Dems rallied around Clinton even though he was a scuzzbag who perjured himself.

I think all that's true to a certain extent...but that is not a defense of Trent...it's the "you did it too" defense which really doesn't have a place after 3rd grade...or it shouldn't. The Dems may have been spineless on those issues but WE should be better than that.
