I'd bet the number would be huge. And, would there be move cars in the Mac Ds lot if they had to park. All that would happen is the cars taking up space in the driveup would be in a parking space for a short time. Net would be zero more vehicles or parking needed for them. Hell, they even have drivethroughs for condoms at social services. Yes, I agree the FREE MARKET is creating a change to more fuel effiecent vehicles but where I live people don't have the money to just go out and buy a hybred. They might when their existing vehicle becomes too old to maintain but that will take years. Things like drivethroughs and telecommuting for work at instant. Wheneve I mention that kind of stuff here people all laugh at it....it doen't seem to fit their leftist thinking. Many of these socalled environmentists really don't care about the environment...their real goal is political power and government control of our lives....with them in charge of course. >>You forgot getting out and pushing your car along.LOL >>I was serious about banning them. they are a major >>waste of fuel. All you have to do is park and >>walk...yes walk.. inside. A much smaller inconvience >>compared to spend tens of thousands of dollars on some >>new vehicle. > >I don't think that the argument "get rid of >drivethroughs to prevent inconvenience" is going to >work logically. People use them because they are >convenient. > >Parking lots are a poor solution as well; they take >lots of land and lead to more cars and more roads as >land use become less efficient. > >Putting in transit hubs with shopping near light-rail >stations could work pretty well though. > >>The problem with replacing vehicles is >>that it will take decades to move to new high mileage >>vehicles and even then many people must have big >>vehicles for hauling and work. > >Well: > >a) it's happening now. It looks like 10% of all the >cars on the road out here (San Diego) are hybrids now. >b) big vehicles can be hybrids as well; look at the >Toyota Highlander.
