I think the point here is...
That since there ARE two categories currently, people should follow the rules about which category they compete in.

Whether there SHOULD be two categories is a whole different debate.

And just because you participate in activities just for the "experience" doesn't mean that is what everyone needs to do it that way. All the adults playing pro sports are out there trying to win. The Olympians I follow (all adults) are trying to get the best score/placement they can, and they want others to play fair. Even your local tennis tournament, triathlon or running race has categories, and everyone wants it to be fair (well...I suppose not EVERYONE).

I totally "Get" the "doing things for the experience" approach... that is definitely how I approached the running races I did. I was there for the experience and the t-shirt. But I also can totally understand that the people up front were trying for their best time and placement and I would respect their desire for wanting the competition to be fair/by the rules.

If you want to do stuff "just for the experience" then good for you...but that doesn't mean that EVERYONE has to have that goal.

If there are rules and categories, it is not unreasonable to expect them to be followed. I literally don't even KNOW what the rules are, regarding the adult competitions... but just like any competition, they should be followed.
