Oh what a beautiful view
If you were never aware of what was around you
And it is true what you said...
I live like a hermit in my head

He now understood why his family had moved away from this area, well, his father and uncle at least. Huddling onto a bench facing the beach, the deserted boardwalk and the frigidly cold wind behind him, he ran his eyes over the ocean, taking in the waves with a wistful expression. It was the closest he ever got, though no one seemed to notice his ever present, alarming, achingly real fear of the water. No one ever asked, no one ever talked about it. No one ever talked about her. It was like she never existed but he knew that she had. She had existed beside him and completed his soul and those damn waves had ripped her and his child away from him. The thought of her didn't bother him as much anymore, not with Reilly to fill his dreary existance with much needed sunshine but today was the day of her death and she was haunting him. The day fit his mood, cold, overshadowed...the wind tossed about the waves in a fashion where he felt that they were mocking him, knowing what they took from him and taking pleasure in knowing it. The insane urge to throw something at the ocean hit him which made him smirk, running a hand through his hair as he dropped his elbows down to his knee's and rested his head in his hands. His eyes fixated on a crack in the board while his mind wandered away from him. He could remember the first time he saw Reilly, the way that she had reminded him so much of her made him want to be near her, to touch her and kiss her and pretend that she wasn't taken away from him. The more time he spent with the girl though, the more he fell in love Reilly, not the haunting resemblence of the girl he used to love. With a growl he looked up at the sky, begging her in his heart and soul to just leave him in peace, to let him love again. She had always been selfish of him, when they were engaged she had hardly left his side and now all he wanted to do was rid himself of her so that he could focus on a brighter future. The one dark cloud in that future mocked him though, reminding him of the confession he had to make to Reilly. A sigh wracked his frame as he kicked the stone on the boardwalk into the sand, his eyes turning back out to the rocky waves yet again...
