I just read that Lake Mead is at its lowest level since 1930s when it was created and first filled. I wonder how the rafting on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon is being affected?

I don't know but I read on one of the whitewater websites a month or so ago that Pearce Ferry was too far out of the water for rafts to use it, so the motor rigs must have to go even further downstream to catch their ride back.

Down as far as Diamond Creek it really hasn't been affected. I did a 15-day trip in late June - early July and the water was flowing 14,000-22,000 cubic feet per second (it's controlled by electricity demand on the dam). It was so high when we ran Crystal that there was practically no rapids.
