I wanna lay you down in a bed of roses
For tonight I'll sleep on a bed of nails
I wanna be just as close as the Holy Ghost is
And lay you down
On a bed of roses

He was not expecting Sway to wrench herself away from him the way she did, but the glare she shot him was enough to make him stop from pursuing the matter. Angelina had told him earlier that the woman had lost her memories, and while he didn't like being downgraded to Memphis' level, he knew Sway wasn't being herself. When Memphis opened his mouth and lit Sway's fuse, he stepped forward, though he didn't think he'd stop the woman if she tried to pop him. He deserved. "C'mon, Memphis...the woman's going through enough. Back off, huh?" He looked at Angelina, his gaze silently conveying that she was not alone in trying to keep the peace. He was slightly startled when Sway said she was coming back, though. Had she truly been? It was anyone's guess. He glanced at Nancy, and wished he'd been able to take the edge off as she had. Though he knew even one would send him to an oblivion that he wasn't sure he'd be able to crawl out of for the the third time of his life. Besides, he'd failed Angelina and Desiree enough. He would never risk that again, no matter how bad his urge for a drink was.
The urge passed as Toby and Laurie Ann entered. He offered them a grin, not missing the fact that out of everyone, their relationship did not seem nearly as strained. "Toby, Laurie Ann...it's good to see you." This was awkward, no matter which way you looked at it. What was one supposed to say under the circumstances?
He nodded when Angelina spoke of helping Sway. He'd do what he could, though it seemed she was more focused on killing Memphis than actually finding answers. He wondered briefly if Amir would make the scene...though he wasn't sure if that would calm the other woman or simply make it worse. Time would tell.
Then, the door opened a boisterous voice rose from the entrance. He turned to see a taller brunette with a darker fleshed accomplice, and realized it seemed Freb and Shania had reconnected. As the couple neared, he became aware of two things: one, that Freb had taken a decent knock to the chin, and two, that Memphis was about to get the same, for the woman had laid eyes on him and was closing in fast.
He moved at the same time Angelina did, holding out his arm. "Now is not the time, Shania!" He said lowly. He could understand her anger...there was so much of it in the room it was damn near tangible. But things needed to be addressed...and they could pound each other later, when they weren't considered patrons of this club. The enraged voices seemed to silence when Angelina shouted of no violence. How true that was, that they had seen enough for a lifetime.
It seemed the club owner that once had been his wife knew how to bribe the old crew. She mentioned drinks, and it seemed like all at once, they settled onto stools. Surely everyone was craving the fuzziness of intoxication, but he hoped it would not stoke some of their tempers.
He saw the confused look on Freb's face, and leaned over. "Sway lost her memory...she was in an accident shortly after everything happened. That's why you were unable to find her." He murmured, before moving to Angelina's side. "Let me help you pour drinks. I'll be okay." He murmured. He hated the tension that strained her face, wanting to help ease it in any way he could.

He didn't like the tension in the air, which was so thick you could almost taste in in the air. He greeted the men, then gave Angelina a small, apologetic wave. It seemed they'd come in at a really bad time...and he was regretting it. He did not like the nervousness on Laurie Ann's face and wished he'd spared her of this...granted he'd been unaware it was going to be a reunion when they'd gotten here.
"Sure, we'll help Sway in any way we can..." He offered, looking at the woman. She was pretty intimidating right about now, he had to say. He'd help from a distance, if he could help it.
Blue eyes met Memphis', and he didn't like what he saw there. The older man seemed colder, harsher...and from the looks of things, he was not treating Nancy well, when he should have been graveling at her feet. These women had all been through hell because of the choices made years ago. He didn't think Memphis had any right to be an ass.
He put his arm around Laurie, putting it on her hip. "I'm sorry. I didn't know it was going to be this way." He said. Maybe he'd been naive in foolishly hoping when they all reunited, that it would be a somewhat happy time. It seemed for most, the time for happiness had passed long, long ago.
He turned slightly to see Freb and Shania walk in, and barely had time to get himself in front of Laurie Ann when Shania made a lunge for Memphis. "Whoa, watch it, watch it....this ain't solvin' nothin!" He yelled, shielding Laurie from any wayward blows that may happen.
When it seemed Angelina had gotten everyone's attention, he looked to Laurie. "Should we leave? I didn't expect it to be this bad.." He trailed off. He did not want to put her in harms way...and God only knew what was going to happen. Especially when Sphinx or Tumbler arrived.
