Tara Teng was a total interview queen. She sounded like she was running for Prime Minister. Her stage presence was top notch, though. I had others in mind who should have won, but Teng might be what a Miss World possesses, which is "beauty with a purpose." It takes more than just beauty to win a pageant, especially MWC and Tara Teng is a perfect choice because of her charitable work. I have to be honest. Aside from many people being Tara fans, I don't think Tara will do well at Miss World. If you see the way the Miss World Pageant is trending out to be, they are now looking for edgier, modelesque looking girls. Tara is just very articulate and well spoken, but in terms of INTERNATIONAL beauty queen material? I'm afraid we will have to wait until 2013 to see a semi-finalist at Miss World. At the end of the day it is still a beauty pageant. Yes, Miss World has a "Beauty With A Purpose" portion as a part of pre-judging but social conscience doesn't win a beauty pageant. I loved Ashely, But I think Tara Teng will be a wonderful Miss world Canada and represent Canada fantastically. Being the pageant supporters we are I think we should cheer Tara on as Miss World Canada and hope that Ashley will come back (hopefully in the miss universe Canada system.) Anyone that doesnt think Miss World is a beauty pageant is silly. Just beacuse they have Beauty with a purpose does not mean they dont want a Tall Beautiful Fit Super model. Otherwise it would be Woman with a purpose. But the Word BEAUTY is there for a reason. Some of you may think she is the perfect choice. But all the international Boards are laughing at her and Canada. ITs like sending a 5'3 145 lbs girl to Ford Model Search look of the year contest. Miss world is a certain Type of person. I am sure she is a wonderful smart girl and she is pretty. But I dont feel she is right for Miss World. Sorry its SO SAD MWC is just so so so so sad... It could be amazing..
