Firstly, I think the Miss BC World regional pageant is a pointless. Any other girl from across the country can enter the Miss World Canada pageant as a delegate at large. Except of course is you live in BC. That�s really unfortunate because you�re only limiting a lot of amazing girls chances at a FAIR win for the national crown. I also don�t understand the reasoning why girls were divided up between regions within BC when clearly it�s unfair for the girls that live in more populated regions and truly are the better deserving contests to advance to the Miss World Canada pageant. Among the contestants this year there was a few girls over the age of 25 that competed, one of those girls won a title and will get to compete at Miss World Canada. I thought the age rules for Miss World Canada and Miss World were 17 to 24???
After watching the pageant you quickly see who the standouts are, and who the real top six finalists should have been.
Hasti - This girl was a contender for a top 6 spot, perhaps she should have not been awarded the provincial title but I�m sure that being close family friends to Miss World Canada 2005, Ramona Amira didn�t better her chanced. Did I forget to mention that Ramona was a judge at the Miss BC World pageant this year?
Ashley B - She was the only contestant from Northern BC, so she automatically won that title. Funny how she knew that all along but still looked surprised when they announced her name.
Leifa - 3 girls competing from the island region, one that could not speak English and had no idea as to why she was competing and the other contestant had aged out. I do believe the Leifa too has surpassed the age requirement. Friendly girl though.
Shelly - She won �Miss Heart & Soul�. I�m sure that helped her out a lot! There were other girls from the GVRD that were total standouts and would do awesome at the nationals. She was a bit of a wallflower during the pageant. Let�s just hope she breaks out of her shell in time for nationals.
Katherine - A complete shock that she became a titleholder especially because she was under the shadow of so many better deserving girls from the Fraser Valley. But, she did have her past high school teacher as a judge at the pageant. It�s interesting the judges weren�t screened a little better to avoid this types of sticky situations.
All in all the pageant was very disorganized, long and boring. People were getting restless and she MC looked lost most of the time. Not a professional production.
This pageant is starting to lose it�s credibility unless they restructure and get with the program.

i think its funny how you spend so much time criticizing the candidates that won.. don't you have anything better to do with your time? and you won't even admit who you are which shows you are a coward--- you are obviously just some girl who is jealous that she didn't win. grow up. you claim in other posts to be a 'viewer of the pageant' but you wouldn't know the info of the candidates unless you were a contestant yourself. I think you should find a hobby other than bad mouthing the girls that you wish you could be.	I know who u are	21:55:59 08/18/08 Mon
