Subject: Subjects are overrated.

Highlights devoured the sun-drenched vista with dark, jaded eyes, characteristically skeptical of her whereabouts. The pragmatic little mare possessed a keen understanding of how deceiving first impressions could turn out to be. For despite her dainty appearance, Highlights was not a pushover.

She suspected the residents of this vivid shoreline would be dull, vapid, ignorant, obtuse. Were these lands to be yet another waste of time?

Appearance: True to her heritage, Highlights is small and delicately built, with a chiseled head and an intelligent, fiery gaze. Although she is pleasing to the eye at first glance, she carries herself in an awkward manner that is reminiscent of her wench-like personality.
Personality: Highlights is rather witchy and unpleasant and doesn't make friends easily. Distrustful and loaded with cynicism, she's quite similar to an angry, poison barb. She isn't cruel in an obnoxious way -- her venom is slow and painful.
Ironically, Highlights is fiercely loyal to the few she cares about. One lucky enough to win her approval will have himself a devoted comrade for life. She is stalwart where others falter, and her determination is intensely focused. Highlights is a lone wolf, a vagabond, a harridan, a warrior.
