The mare waited until everything had pretty much settled down before approaching her mate, her brown eyes fixed on his beloved face. ~*Zackari*~ she murmured contentedly, her muzzle pressing against his neck. She sighed happily as his scent enveloped her, her eyes closing in bliss. ~*I've missed you*~ she whispered, desperately trying to quell the torrent of tears that threatened to overrun her eyes. Her time was cut short as a patchwork dynamo appeared.

*Daddy!* the filly squealed, her striped tail whipping in a frenzy against her painted flanks. Flinging herself at her father, she was a bundle of energy as she nuzzled, nudged, and prodded at every available surface on the stallion's pelt. Her gray eyes shone with delight and her soft lips formed a bright smile. Prancing to a position in front of him, she glared at him sternly. *You gone loooooooooong time Daddy* she admonished, half teasing the stallion and half trying to show off her new vocabulary.
